I too like the border. How did you do that?

Hi neco it is quite easy, I use Photoshop. Make a duplicate of your picture, make a new layer between the two layers and fill with white, Working on the duplicate layer make a selection to the size you want with the rectangular marquee tool and make that into a new layer, you should now have a background and 3 layers. Working on the selection layer go to layer styles and I do a drop shadow to what you like. Then go to the duplicate layer above the white layer and reduce the opacity to what you like and this gives a lighter edge. You need the white layer to allow for the opacity change. I hope you can follow this, any problems please feel free to get back to me and if you do ok(which I am sure you will) post a picture here so I can see it please.

Hi everyone. Happy New Year. I bought my 13 Y.O. son the Canon T3 with a 18-55MM and 55-250MM for Christmas. I took him out last Sunday adn we learned about Apature (F-Stops and Depth of Field). I plan to take him out again and show him the impact shutter speeds can have on moving objects. Along the way we talk about Photo Composition, Lighting, The Rule of Thirds, etc.

Does anyone have any sage advice on other useful tricks or topics that could help make Photography more enjoyable for a young person starting out?

All suggestions welcome.

Thanks.
