Good morning, all the suggestions made by readers are good! I would suggest that if you do buy your grand daughter a DSLR camera, that you purchase the drop and spill warranty! That way if one of her "careless" friends drops it or spills Kool aid on it, it will be fixed or replaced! Just my thought, hope she enjoys and learns from her new journey!

NOT A GOOD IDEA FOR EITHER CAMERA OR MORE IMPORTANT YOUR EYESIGHT! Camera can be replaced eyes cannot! Go to a welding supply house purchase a few #14 welder's goggle glass! Experiment now with 1, 2 or 3 lenses. One should do it, two for sure! Save those eyes for the next eclipse!

I use the Tamron all the time, it is my main lens! While "yes" it has it limitations, it is a great "shot per dollar" piece of glass. I take nice photos indoors using this lens, but sometimes I get disappointed on what should have been a great shot. In that vain, it is me the shooter more than the cheap glass. Keep trying. When indoors, I start with lots of practice chimp shots to "just because!

I will check the name on my plan, it says each repair subtracts from the overall protection value, in my case the camera was in the $400-450 plan, they did not tell me how much the repairs cost but whatever it was, was deducted from the total coverage. I still have coverage for the rest of the 4 year plan! Plan cost less than $50.00 so in my case it was worth it. It is not for everyone, but fit me.

I was skeptical of these after sale protection plans but! 2 years after I bought my Nikon P-600 it started searching for a mode to use. The factory couldn't fix it. None of the forums knew how to fix it. Finally pulled out the protection plan called it in, sent out the camera, less than two weeks had camera back good as new. The problem was the lens sensors. Cost $0 to fix. Happy I bought the drop and spill protection.

If the bird did not want to chat with you, he or she would have flown away! Seems to me this social bird wanted a friend! We have them come to our feeders, as silly as this may sound, we chat with them, one is very voisterous!

I purchased the P600 2 years ago! Love it! Fun takes really great pictures from landscape to wildlife to stars and planets! Have won a few Amateur Photographer contests! One problem that can arise but is fixable is the shutter system! After 15000 plus photos mine broke but had it fix and it's just like the day I bought!

YES MEXICO WILL PAY FOR THE WALL! Why do I say that? Trump has called Manufacturers' bluff sending jobs to Mexico! The tariffs for bringing the items back here will make them unaffordable! I love it when a plan comes together, thank you Hannibal!
