Best I can tell from my iBird Plus ap you've got yourself a Red-bellied woodpecker there. Congratulations.

Nice shots. And, that IS a big pole.

That's a new one for me. Never heard of Willy Wagtails. Nice shots of them.

I found the facts quite interesting but the inane comments from the author very irritating. He wasn't funny, just annoying.

It could be that the women were wearing the steel supports linked by Shellback.

I went back and looked a couple more times at the part where the ladies arrive and just before "sitting down". Some of them are not quite as accomplished and do seem to be working their heels into a fixture of some sort. I'm thinking the metal leg support technique is in use here.

Looks like the bricklayer who closed in the window was a little drunk. Heh...

We have the a6000 and I don't believe it has touch screen. We love the camera however.

I must not have been clear. What I'd like is the A6000 with weather sealing and touchscreen. That's what I'd like. I know they don't have either.
That's also why I'm hoping for the updated model of the A6000 with those features, whatever it's called and if it really happens.

That explains the crosshatch I was seeing across the grass.

Very interesting, and nice, variations on the originals.

Except for the first one none seem to be in focus anywhere (which you obviously already know). Were you too close for the lens to properly focus?

Hope it turns out to be something dumb (sorry 'bout that). If all was as it should be then I'm seriously reconsidering whether this lens is for me. Got plenty of time to think through it though. The camera/lens savings jar is a long way from the top.

Looks like the Pigmy nuthatch to me. We get all three nuthatches up in Colorado and these little guys are just great. The White breasted nuthatch has a longer body. The Red breasted is in between, size wise, and has a chest about the color of this one's, er, lower rear.

No, it's not a splat, or more correctly a splatter. It's just a hill climb. He didn't have much of a run at it, maybe 6 bike lengths. The guy at the top is there to catch the bike, the rider's on his own. He wasn't needed. Most of the guys I rode with were in their 60's and 70's. One guy, in his 80's, still rides the Nationals!

Wow, now I'm really blown away! Being just a spring chicken of 72, I guess it's time to find a trials bike. Or not.

thanks,
ron

Gotta ask about your avatar - is that what is called a "splat" move to get onto that vertical face? Whatever it is, it is very impressive. I ride a dirt bike in the woods but am WAY too old to even think of getting a trials bike and trying anything remotely kin to what's in your avatar. My bike's just my pony.
