Just north of Steubenville and across the river from Weirton and literally in the woods.

You're across the state from me...
Weirton is really close to Wheeling, and we are close to Cincinnati.
Enjoy your trip !!

3 easy steps to a macro shot...
1. cheat
2. cheat again
3. fake it really well
Wallah !

1st you take a pretty sharp photo

Then you crop and edit it to taste

But why quit in color?

A severe crop that tried to salvage shots way beyond the reach
of the lens... Pretty sure it was territorial.
This fight carried on across the creek.
the loser flew away on upstream squawking all the way.
The Champ flew back over here where it started...
I knew it was beyond reasonable focus, but I had to try...
I got what I could...

get out of here

really enjoyed your Old Washington Park pics...
The blacksmith shop is interesting...
Old cemeteries tell stories that haven't been told
by others in a long time, and the history books missed.

Dana these are quite nice in spite of the sun. You did well. And I enjoy places like that. I once read an article by a National Geo. photog and I have found this nugget works well: When the sun is so bright and especially at mid day - try converting the image to B/W or sepia.

they're absolutely right...
thanks for the tip !!
these are "repeat" shots, so
I didn't want to spend too much edit time on them.
I did try using the ND filter,
But a lot of shots still kept blowing the white out..
oh well... still studying on that...
