This is part of the five year project at West Alaska Lake. The one where the family of geese is coming in was the largest family during the five years. The lone baby just looked as if it needed some alone time in the sun. The third time could be called a mothers love.

Here they come-Mom and Dad brought them right up to the car I was in . This happned so many times during the summers at West Alaska Lake

The image here is of a light house in Minisota about 60 miles northeast of Superior,Wisconsin. In it you will see two people there is a man with a blue shirt on in the lower left. When this man walked by me I would estimate his height to be over six feet tall. From where the water(Lake Superior) is to the top of the light house it is over 125 feet. They have images of waves going over the top of the light house. In the winter it is one big ice icicle when the sun hits it in the morning it turns to gold. But the size of this thing is huge.

a closer look at the light house

Looking down to where I took the first image of the light house. I gives one a whole new perspective on size

Do you have some information that you can read over about the program that you have. Find out everything you can about it. Make sure you make a few copy's before you start working on the image. Make your editing decisions with your head not your heart. A trick you might want to try is turn one of the copy's upside down. Look at it that way because you will be using the right side of your brain and the right side of your brain will help you spot any problems if there are any. That way you can compare the differences when you are done. If it just doesn't look right when it is up side down look at the image in sections(a block grid) to help you spot any problems. When you have worked out the problems upside down turn it right side up and compare it to one that you haven't worked on. You will see small differences at first but as you look at it the improvements will stand out.

This is where I completed a five year research project for my self to document the wild life around this lake. You know I sure miss that place. This was a year around project. There where times when it reached close to forty five degrees below zero with the wind during the winter months. In the summer I would get there at 3AM and not leave until 9PM. Those where long days but the joy and peace made it all worth every second spent there.

This small island housed a small farm in the early fourtys

The first thing is what editing software do you have. If you have cs4 go to levels and see if you can get rid of the white patch and yes turn it around the image. If you adjust or dampen the glare that is on the tire the people may be a little bit crisper. If you go to the layers part of the image try and turn each layer on and off to see if that helps you out. It is worth a try it looks like it holds a lot of memories for you.

Let me ask you a question if I may. When you see these beautiful animals do you feel like a little kid in a candy store for the very first time?

I agree with you I would rather get out and see for myself than watch TV. It is so much more rewarding. It fills a part of you being in the great outdoors.A need that each one of us has to be in something that is so beautiful that words can't describe only an image will do it justice

Is it possible to use 2- 2xconverter at the same time and get a good image. I am aware that you will loose a lot of light trying this but will it work.

The first thing please check to see if lens are matched for your camera. On the eye piece at the rear of the camera you may need to adjust the the clarity of the rear eye piece. You may also need to check the connections between the lens and your camera. Check to see if there is a film on the lens on ether end of the lens in question. Have you been in a very smokey place and taken off your lens? Also re-clean all your filters just to make sure.Be sure that the cleaning solution is for camera lens and that it doesn't have any oils in it. Make sure the papers or cloth is clean. If the person still will not take you lens back you can go to the better business bureau or take out an add or post an statement that this person said you could bring back the equipment and now he or she refuses to take them back.Use names and dates that each time you tried to talk to this person.

I was at Bays Mountain this last weekend when they feed the wolves it was an experience that gave me a whole new respect for these beautiful animals. As you can see the first one almost saying try and take it away and see what will happen. It was interesting to watch. The high ranking wolves ate first then if there was anything left the next was allowed to eat. I was told that they only feed the wolves twice a week in order to keep them healthy.

Try and take it away

By looking at the world around me I strive to see the beauty in the very normal things that surround me on a daily basis.a very simple drop of water on the end of a flower petal opens up the possibility's of how the time of day to how much time has passed since the drop of water took up residence on the flower petal. To get close enough to see the movement of the current s in that drop of water. I volunteer at Bays Mountain Park in Kingsport,Tn. I work with the raptors (birds of prey). If I can try and understand how and why these beautiful bird do what they do I will better be able to go out and get the image I want
