I am considering adding a Mirrorless Camera for its weight and Video advantages when I travel . I currently have a D750 and a D500 but I find them to large for just travel shots and Video. I was leaning toward the Fujifilm xt3. I have heard good things about it plus it has a good lens line up, at whats seems a fair price for the body and a kit lens of around $1300. I know Sony is a leader in the mirrorless field. I am looking for thoughts and recommendations.

Obviously the phrase "going to buy a mirrorless" evokes a lot of responses lol! I will only add that the Fuji cameras are, in my opinion, the best bang for the buck because of the quality of their lens' at smaller price points - that "kit lens" that you would be getting is one of the best zooms in it's range - hardly a kit lens'. I have posted this video before but I think it would help you see what the Fuji can do with some of it being done with the kit lens. https://vimeo.com/306891236 (And this was done with an XT-2. The XT-3 is even better with focusing and video quality!)

What would your boxer think if he was there? Sure miss mine...

She would have loved it - especially with the capuchin monkeys coming by every day.

Very nice. Hearing those howler monkeys would get old for me if I lived there. vz

They really weren't that bad - we get up very early (4am) anyway due to our work schedule so we just chuckled when they started howling around 5am every morning knowing it was waking up some of the others :D They would stop in an hour so not so bad.

This took me down memory lane....My grandfather was adopted by two spinster Amish sisters and raised Amish. He married a "Yoder", my grandmother, and they left the Amish faith and became Mennonite. My Dad used to go to the little old red schoolhouse in Lancaster and literally DID walk 3 miles in the snow to school lol. Is it still there? It was a bookstore the last time I was there about 20 years ago so who knows?!!

Here are a few pics of the view from our villa. To wake up to this every morning to the sounds of the howler monkeys was a joy!

I'm looking forward to my upcoming trip.
One slight suggestion. In your shot of the crab...........love the color; however i would get rid of the green leave on the left side.

I agree! Thank you - I have so little time after getting back for post prod. But I think that one would be worth it.

I enjoyed seeing the little crab shot. Reminds me of the little fiddler crabs hiding in the bank alone the shores edge but they don't wait around for the picture around here (in Maryland). As soon you we see them they are high tailing it out of there and down a hole in the bank. It did bring back some child hood memories. That's what is great about photography. All the memories just come back.

That is so true - the memories are priceless!

Thanks to all of you!! I had a great time - didn’t get as much chance for photography as I would have liked but the family time was more precious.
