Nicely captured.
I don’t know about your end of the state but the clouds are starting to ramp up here in Albuquerque.
Stay safe...
And this just for fun today.
Stay safe...

SWEET!
The second really shows the faint long tail. I've been fighting what I think are the start of monsoon clouds the past few days. I would think the comet would have picked a better weather pattern to display all its glory.
It’s not the clouds fault, it’s like when you buy new equipment. They just want to see what the fuss is.
Thank you very much for the compliment.

Nice shots. Much better than mine under a wispy clouded sky.
Thank you very much.
This morning I had scattered clouds that came and moved along pretty quickly but haze was more of an issue.
I’ll post a few photos later.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
Great shots Jim!
I'm just getting excited about this.
I think I will set up and see what I can gather of it.
Thanks for your spec's on the capture!
I thought I had replied to this but I must not have hit send.
I think there’s only a few mornings left before it moves too far and becomes a night event. I was fortunate enough to have decent weather yesterday and fair weather today.
It would have been visible last night except for clouds starting to roll in from the west.
About settings, since time is short and interest is good, I wanted to give newer members a starting point.
Thank you very much for the compliment by the way and I hope you will be posting your own photos soon.
Stay safe.

Probably won't be that noticeable.
It wasn’t. No delineation just a subtle change in brightness that only showed photographically.
Nothing to get excited about.

Thank You, how's the views in Albuquerque? Maybe on the top of Sandia Peak?
Too far for me to go on top of the mountain but the views from west of town are outstanding. I can even see it from in town but couldn’t find a place that I wouldn’t be in peril of having someone chase me away or call the cops.
Nice shots. I like the clouds in all of your pictures.
Yesterday I was looking for a park in Albuquerque and wasted my imaging time trying to stay away from peoples houses. I was able to see it visually around 4:30 even in a bortle 7/8 zone.
Keep playing and hopefully you’ll get even nicer shots.
Most of all, keep safe...
Nice shots with the clouds.
Well done.

Very Nice images. I hope to get out there once I get back from camping and try a few shots. Probably won't be until it becomes an evening object.
Thank you very much.
I’m looking forward to trying this when it becomes a nighttime event.
I don’t have to travel just fight the weather.
Stay safe...
I have been up at 3:45 each morning for 3 days now.
The first day I had a layer of clouds that wouldn’t leave.
Yesterday I tried to find a park that overlooks the rio grande and couldn’t get away from other peoples houses.
Today I made the drive to a bortle 5 area west of Albuquerque.
This is definitely a visible eye comet right now.
These were both shot with a Canon 70-200mm f:2.8 L lens and a Canon 7D Mark II at f:/2.8 ISO 800 for 1 second.
I used a standard tripod and remote shutter to minimize movement.
The panoramic was at 70 mm and the single was at 200mm and cropped about 40%.
Stay safe...
Nailed it.
Very nicely done.
