There are numerous nations around the world that describe themselves as some form or other of democracy. Does pure democracy exist anywhere?
True, America is no Democracy. The constitution which is supposed to protect minorities, is allowing one minority (the super rich) to ens***e and or exploit other minorities within American society. What is going to happen to those who cannot afford your health care system.

I absolutely agree that Americans need protection from their government. The whole world needs protection from the US of A government. Especially the agencies such as the CIA and the NSA. Do you have freedom of speech on this forum? There are rules and conditions attached this forum and they override your rlghts to publish your 'free speech' here. Perhaps you should complain to the administrator that he/she is impinging on your rights as an American.

Life is about finding the correct balance between the rights of the individual and the rights of others whom might be impacted.
Recent domestic violence murders/sulcide in Australia highlight the need to stop these murders before they happen. This is an obvious situation where the rights of the perpetrator should not take precldence over the rights of the victims. His rights were protected up to the point where he poured petrol over his family and set them on fire.
There have to be checks and balances in place so that one person's rights do not override others. Look at the all too frequent mass murder shootings in the USA. The rights of the individual to carry a firearm has to be balanced against the rights of others to be protected and not loose their lives.
