Those rifles take game of all types every year. You're tied up with appearances and ignoring functionality. Actually rifles in the AR or AK configuration are quite a bit more ergonomic than the traditional wood-stocked rifle or shotgun.
"Armor piercing" is a catchall term. Armor piercing ammunition is actually not very useful for self-defense or hunting. And you're being overly dramatic when when you state that k*****g folks "2 or 5 houses away". You need to prove your thesis with actual data before you make those comments.
Silencers, or suppressors, are legal in the U.S. They require a Class 3 weapons permit, which costs $200 in addition to the cost of the suppressor. Actually suppressors are ideal for hunting. They're very common in Europe, and don't carry the stigma as here in the U.S. The silencer was designed to protect the shooter from the deafening noise of a firearm. And a silencer doesn't "silence" anything. Most all ammunition is supersonic, and therefore can't be silenced by anything. The suppressor only baffles a certain amount of noise. You're projecting.
If you don't want a suppressed weapon, an AK-47, AR-15, or any other weapon, don't buy it. However, you don't have the right to repress the rights of others.
