Wow, you don't know what you've been missing. Custom car shows abound here in Canada. They are quite popular in the U.S. as well.

This was the first of these shows here - and very popular it was too, so I guess it won't be the last.

Based on my experience I'd look at the cord. I use a 430 EX II speedlite with my EOS 40D and EOS 50D. I am able to make any flash setting changes I need to from the camera's menu or the flash itself.

I really think the brooding sky works very well in these images. Definitely would not work as well under sunny skies.

Tried for Rob Ford, but he got away. I would like to think to start at he bottom of the list and work up. Not to fond of the Trudeau kid either.

When I went to church last week I heard a sweet elderly lady in the pew next

You have taken my favourite actor Patrick Swayze,
my favourite musician Michael Jackson,
my favourite Blues Singer Amy Winehouse,
my favourite actress Elizabeth Taylor,
my favourite singer Whitney Houston,
my favourite author Tom Clancy,
and now my favourite comedian Robin Williams !

I just wanted you to know that my favourite politicians are
Rachael Notley, Mike Duffy, Pamela Wallrin, Rob Ford,
and that Trudeau kid."

This is a hiking buddy you can always count on. He would never say no to a hike. And he would always be there when you need him.

I suspect more Canadians will get more of these than you think. And Yes British humour is something that needs to be learned to understand. I myself have been fortunate to be able to watch many British sitcoms on the BBC channel and get a handle on the oddities of the British jokes.

NICE TRY, DODDY! I bet some Brits found your jokes mildly amusing. I wonder what Canadian Hogs think of them, besides the one who opined thus far. I could only understand about five. It's not always the case that British humor doesn't "translate well across the pond," in my opinion; sometimes, you [Brits] have different connotations for the words we share, e.g. rag, and we Americans just "blow" past the word w/o understanding it, as you would, and it renders the whole joke "unfunny."

But the spirit in which you intended them was good. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The depth of field in both photos makes the little girl grab your attention and hold it. I think that works well. What I see is the left side of her face is shadowed and a bit too dark in the first photo. In the second her face seems to be a bit too light. Just my thoughts.

Jerry, we say "YES" and "OUI", it depends mainly on the community or province of residence. English and French are the official Canadian languages. "Auto Ecole" is obviously French for Driving School so my guess is, if this is Canadian likely produced in the province of Quebec.

jerryc41 wrote:
There are several variations of that - very clever.

I was trying to figure the country - Canada. It says "Auto-Ecole" on the roof, but the woman obviously says, "Yes," at the end, not "Oui."

boomboom here's another idea. I see you tried and succeeded with the alcohol solution. If this problem recurs it may be worth acquiring a RS-80N3 remote switch and continue using your camera with this.

boomboom wrote:
After doing this alcohol wash three times, the camera is now working. I did get a little alcohol on the top window that shows settings so it's a little foggy, but the camera seems to be doing ok. Thanks for everyone's help. Hopefully I can get a while longer with my camera.

Did they refer to "Camp X" at all in this program?

I live about 2 kilometers from the site of Camp X. There is a memorial there now and I drive past it twice a day. They are setting up for Remembrance Day Ceremonies tomorrow.
My brothers and our friends all play in some of the old buildings when we were kids.

Last night I watched "World War II Spy School" on Netflix. It began with the English, the Canadians, the OSS, and finished with the CIA. Fascinating.

Then I came across this article, equally fascinating.
