Outdoor Photography Canada magazine is really good. They had an excellent article tiltled "Beyond Basic Composition". I still have that issue. They put it online here: http://www.oopoomoo.com/2013/12/beyond-basic-composition-line-shape-and-form-in-photography/
Check out the difference in the lighthouse composed with the rule of thirds and then composed with the golden spiral.

I am going to let my subscription to Popular Photography expire. Why: It seems to be getting thinner and thinner every issue. The articles aren't very interesting. I have also noticed that the major photography retailers have cut back on their advertising, i.e. B&H and Adorama used to have several pages showing their products and now one or two. What publications are you fellow "hogs" reading that worthwhile?

Giraffes are great. I have been to Africa twice and I swear that giraffes love to be photographed. Every time we came upon them, either individually or in a group, they seemed to be posing. First they would give you one look and then they would turn and give you another. I don't recall any of them walking away as long as there was a camera pointed at them.

I spent an hour or so yesterday at the Birmingham, AL zoo. Not a bad place to shoot, especially when most all of their animals are available for viewing. Yesterday was disappointing in that the primate house was near empty. Guess the gorillas, orangutans and apes were inside in the air-conditioning watching TV. Maybe another day!

OK. PM me when you decide. You did see that I have added the lens hood to the package? Forgot I had it.

I am interested in this lense but curious as to why you are selling it. Have you used it at all? Purchased new? Any additional info you might have would be appreciated. I've read some pretty mixed reviews but figure it has to be a step up from my 55-250 kit lense. Thanks.

I have had the lens since I purchased it new in 2013. It has been used it "sparingly", because other lens that I have serve my purposes better. Reason for sell: Recently acquired a Canon 70-200mm/2.8L IS II USM. Aside from the filters mentioned in the description, I am also including a lens hood in the package.
