Our Son is our tour guide. We hope to see where my ancestors came from in the Trier area. Yes Waseca, MN.

Do Burg Eltz outside Cochem for sure, Koln dom if you can get there, Mosel river trip including wine tasting, Koblenz where the Mosel and Rhein meet, Luxemberg is just down the road, Kaiserslautern (sp?). Been there many times, nice part of Germany and great people. Trier - gotta do Porta Negra and great old town photo ops. Food is wonderful and the beer is even better. Eagan, Minn guy here, you are going to have a great time.

My wife and I are going to Germany in late August with our Son as our tour guide. I have a new Nikon D3100 with the 18-55 lens
it came with. I purchased a 55-200 lens on Ebay. Any other lens' you would recommend? Any sights? Thanks for your help.

What part of Germany are you visiting and how long will you be there? By the way, Waseca as in Waseca, Minnesota?

You obviously don't read about or believe the polls on this issue.

Yea well, given enough time and different samples I could come up with whatever poll results I wanted too. Get a clue to what this administration is doing - and it is not the American majority as well. Like you keep telling us - get over it.

4) Increase the SS withheld from employees to something above 6.2% - should add millions if not billions to reduce the problem

The rate is actually 12.4%, employers factor their half into their employee's compensation. The government structured/hid it that way in order to sell it to the public, but it all still ultimately comes from the employee's pay.

Yep, I knew that but the rate needs to move upward. It has been at that rate for years except the last couple where the employees rate was less although the employer' rate. Now they are the same again. But keep in mind that the employer will receive no future benefit, except the payroll tax deduction that they get on their portion paid in.

If I never had an excuse to drink before, now I do.

OK then, we have a budget problem so here is how we could start:
1) Curtail all foreign aid and all the government employees that support it - couple billion
2) Roll the government retirement funds under the SS umbrella - at least now they will have a vested interest in the outcome
3) No more public funds to be used for families of government employees (I had to pay form family's expenses) - should save a couple million in white house residents vacation costs alone
4) Increase the SS withheld from employees to something above 6.2% - should add millions if not billions to reduce the problem
5) Look at veterans disability claims and the percent disablity these folks get - mind you a person that is deemed 75% disabled gets those funds free of income taxes (Understand that my father was a retired veteran and I know many that are and I hold them in the highest respect but many of them are as physically fit as you and I but are still deemed physically disabled - sorry but this is just not right)
6) Reduce legistators retirement benefits to reflect more what a normal citizen would earn from a regular job - I do not receive anything close to the amount they do - why? couple of million at least
7) Reduction of all senate and house of representative staffs - they don't read the bills before them anyway. couple of milion
8) Get out of a couple of wars and bring our kids home - couple of billion not to count the number of lives that it would save
9) Stop paying welfare people that do not want a job - no legitimate looking for employment equals no check - couple of billion
10) Reduce payments to immigrants that are not earned - couple of billion
11) Payment of SS to individual that paid in alone - enough of 2-3 spouses piggy backing of on salary - couple of billion
12) Stop supporting programs that take jobs out of the US - how is NAFTA doing for you?
12) Bottom line, stop spending money on things that do not matter and start helping our own.

Damn Right! I would like to take all monetary & personnel support away from these scumbags and let them live in the stoneage by themselves forever.

Ditto, leave them to themselves and they will destroy each other-works for me.
