I agree with Orrie. But I'd like to add that more megapixels aren't alway necessary for blow ups. There are plenty of programs available to interpolate images for bigger prints: BlowUp by Aleinskin is one that I have and works really well. Back when I bought my first full frame DSLR, a Fuji S2 Pro (6.2 mp) I did a shoot for a NYC architectural firm, (Beyer Blinder, Belle) to capture an abstract of a building facade for a blowup print behind the lobby front desk up to 30"x40" and it looked GREAT !
So it depends what the print's end use is. The print was sharp but not the same way as shot with a 4x5 camera.

Most agencies want 50mp. Then they sell for just a few dollars. Stock prices continue to fall. I've stopped submitting, not worth it.

The cost of a camera is a personal matter of how much you love to 'take' a picture, and maybe later you'll 'make' pictures.
Keeping the 'starter' simple will help stimulate you /or not, to 'want' to spend more.
It all starts with; are you an innate photographer? Is 'it' in you ?
I started at age 10 with a HIT camera (uses Minox 8mm film) bought in Time Square souvenir shop in 1957.
The photo bug hasn't left me for a minute.

A small cash pay and a tax deduction would be fine. How will they pickup?

My HP Z3100 Designjet photo printer has only had a dozen prints put thru the machine. However; it has been still/off for 3 years. It's from 2008 or 2009. Anyone interested ? My problem has been with listing on Ebay is interested buyers are too far away. I checked with UPS, I need the original boxes or new boxes with 3" stuffing all around, so it's a pick up only, either in New York City or upstate NY Woodstock /Albany area. If interested I have many more pics, no sure if this site allows more than one. Got all documentation, plus 24" paper, apron underneath has never been unpacked. I've changed direction in my own printing thats' why I offering. Make an offer !! Anyone know of a school or local photo center interested ?

Still, after all those numbers, do you like the image ?...the feeling, the subject, or are you only looking at specs ?
