I welcome any comment !
Later on I'll show how I paint these images on my computer. You can see those and others on my web site.
Your flash pictures look good to me!
Have you tried available light for a more natural effect? A.L. will give you the whole room atmosphere, no black b/g's in a bowling alley.
With an ISO of 1000 you should be able to shoot handheld easily.

I joined last month. I'm retired from commercial photography of 50 years; doing fashion and advertising in Manhattan. Deciding I had enough ad campaigns, I became myown client and I shoot only what pleases me. Don't get wrong, I've loved my career:) but now I'm doing abstract architectural art. (peterbrandt.com)
Still live in Manhattan on the upper-upper west side, with a house in Woodstock NY.
I'm glad to have stumbled upon UHH; What a name ! who came up with Ugly Hedgehog....for photographers? Maybe to be in disguise ?
I'll be posting some images soon.
Welcome back, I know the feeling as a similar event happen to me and my wife.
Luckily we were in a "no death car" as associated with Audi and Volvo by the insurance companies. We were at 55mph when another didn't look left at an intersection and our noses met in the intersection. My wife still has after effects of the accident and we're going to court next May.
For you 352 lookers at my sale, I have a Black Friday Special; now reduced to $75.
excellent, the Cardinal shot is an example where auto focus on a digital camera would not have allowed this focus. Those Cardinals are so sensitive and fly off as they see, that you see them !
Very nice, love the color contrast with the moss and grass.
I'm selling a Vintage Senior 3 lamp lighting kit made by Acme-Lite Chicago. $100.
3 flood reflectors w/ 4 bulbs (500W x 3200 deg Kalvin, superfloods #2 EBV) 3 chrome light stands, 15 ft. extension cable, and 3way service block connector switch (turns on all 3 with one switch). Lamp reflectors are 10" across, x 3 section Stands are 18 3/4" long when folded, x 64" full height x 24" foot spread.
Case: 20" long x 10.5" deep x 14" wide with carrying handle and 2 brass closure clamps on the sides. Inside Case top has instructions w/ 4 lighting setup diagrams.
Lamps have excellent heavy-duty holder /clamps.
One Problem: one reflector and the switch block need rewiring; these two, the old wires have cracked **see pictures at end.
Pick up in New York City 10025 or Woodstock NY 12409 . I travel between the two every week so I can drop off somewhere between as well (Newburgh NY, New Paltz, Westchester, Bergen Co. NJ....etc)
Congrats on a great shot...frame it!
Very dramatic. I'm new to Hedgehog; why the downloading offers ?
Welcome Heather
I'm new as well to this site (one month). I'm a retire (switched to fine art) photographer.
The reflector you may have used, was it foldable ? There are many such reflectors. Really anything you can think of can be such a reflector, even bedsheets. Check with professional photo suppliers and you may be able to buy it on-line. My suppliers are all from NYC where I earned a living as a pro for 27 years. In Manhattan try "Set Shop" and "FotoCare" both are in the old photo district around 5th Ave and 21st street. Also B&H and Adorama. Most reflectors are flexible / foldable foil like with one side silver /chrome and the other side either white or gold. Good Luck ! PS: SetShop is a miscel set supply house for photog's: no film or cameras. FotoCare sells film/memory cards, cameras, strobes, etc.
Flash changes the mood of the environment, even if you bounce light. Flash ruins the idea of shooting available light.
