Yes, as others have said, but the best solution is to turn off the date stamp in your camera. Somewhere among the menus there is a place to turn it off. That solves the problem for future images. :-)

Underexposure corrected in PS can accentuate noise in the darker areas of a shot. You might do better with a higher ISO and less underexposure.
Try 100 or a little more ISO.

Back a while I accidentally left my camera set on minus a couple stops compensation. I had used it that way and forgot to change it back. The images from the photo shoot that day were all very underexposed but RAW processing got me acceptable images. RAW definitely gives you more options to fix an image!

Here's a brief version, quote from a friend of mine:

It's not the flutter of the shutter
but the eye of the guy".

(not being sexist, but gal doesn't rhyme with 'eye")

I've had no problem removing dust. If you have an "ear syringe", available at any drugstore, follow the instructions in the camera manual to get the mirror locked up and blow gently with the syringe holding the camera face down. DON'T touch the sensor/filter with the end of the syringe if you can help it. If you do touch it accidentally the syringe tip is soft rubber and won't damage anything but might leave a smudge. I agree with the others here. Though you can buy a cleaning kit with soft foam tip (probably urethane foam and solvents, take it to a camera shop and let them do it if gentle puffs of air don't do it.

This shot was made April 2008. It was fairly new then, replacing an old bridge.

Incidentally, I've upgraded my camera and lenses since then. I have a used Canon 40D bought from a retired Nat. Geo. photographer, Tom Nebbia who lives in this area. I have a Sigma 18-200 with image stabilization and a Canon 70-300 also with IS. Been retired for several years and can't afford $3000 cameras and lenses :-)

Thanks for the nice comment.

Hello,

I was the school newspaper photog in high school. I've been retired 14 years now and have been interested in photography continuously for about 60 years. I'm a long time member of the camera club of Hendersonville NC. I like waterfalls (lots in this area), mountain scenes, sunsets, and more recently I've gotten back into people pictures. I'll post some images shortly. Here's one of an Ibis in flight taken near Hilton Head SC.

Great shot. I think you might like it even more with a bit of cropping. Crop away about half of the grass at the bottom, i.e. half way up to the relatively flat part of the grass. Then crop the right side, half the distance from the present edge to the back of the doe. That puts the doe walking into the picture and off center toward one of the good spots of the rule of thirds. You can maintain the present aspect ratio. Your image is high resolution and won't suffer from a bit of cropping.
