Let's just get ride of pennies and nickels and round everything off to the nearest $0.10. It would save us lots of money by not having to mint coins that cost more to produce than their value.
What about the Gitzo fluid gimbal. I have not tried it and have not read many reviews but it sounds interesting.
Nice image to work on. Thanks.
This was a great learning experience. I tried a lot of new techniques.

I agree with your observations - I increased the contrast in the foreground in the b&w image and it really made it pop. And the stripes on the pole are gone...
I'd love to see it now along with Cany's suggestions which I like.
Beautiful shot. In the color version the greens, yellows and blues add visual contrast. In the monochrome version, except for the sky, the contrast is a bit too low. For that reason I prefer the color. I think it really pulls off what you were going for. I find the red and white stripes on the pole to the left are a little distracting.
Taken in Sydney Harbor back in January 2011. Have fun with it.

The Canon EF-S lenses will not work on the 5D, I don't know about the Tamron lenses.
I love the picture that includes South Sister. Climbing it in 1972 was one of the highlights of my life. I could see the entire state of Oregon from there that day along with a lake, a glacier and an iceberg. I could see Mound Lassen in California and Mount Adams in Washington. Quite the memory! Thanks for the reminder.
Like you said, back-button-focus separates the two functions and makes the whole process easier. I tried it a few years ago and will never go back.
I have two, a Wimberley monogimbal and a Really Right Stuff monopod head. When shooting fast moving objects the gimbal is great with long focal length lenses. For extra support when the subject is not moving the RRS head is more stable but slower to operate.
Thank-you for posting this. It is what our country really needs.
