This is my favorite photo of the entire trip. 300mm, F7.1 ISO 3000, 1/500 sec
My wife and I went on a photo safari to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswanna last October. You will have an absolutely amazing time. I used a Canon 7D II with a 70-300 L Canon lens. I also took my 24-105L. Most of the time the 70-300 was perfect; however, there were a few occasions that a littler more length would have been nice. The 7D II handles higher ISO quite well with virtually no noise. I kept the ISO to at least 640 and would increase it as dusk approached. Morning shots were no problem. Whatever you decide, get it early and practice with it so you are totally comfortable with it before you leave.
