Absolutely wonderful! My husband and I were fortunate to spend part of our honeymoon in Yosemite. Your images reflect the same type of magic that I recall when I think back on our visit and also when we look over photos taken from that trip.

I am fascinated by IR and would appreciate any resources you might share.

I have a couple of cameras that I do not use as often as I should and would love to convert one of them if possible.

It is a medium I really want to explore.

Again, really beautiful images.

Not all, Zgirl. I'm in Southern Illinois near the corner of IL, MO and KY. Heart of the Ozark Shawnee National Forest. Great area for birding and hiking.

That sounds like a great area. I have not visited the Shawnee National Forest or Mark Twain National Forest, but they are both places I would love to explore. I have them circled on the "when we have more time to travel" map.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

We have travelled a lot in Arkansas and KY, but unfortunately I am not very familiar with MO and IL.

Welcome to our forum!

Thank you!

I notice you are in the Catskill Mountains area. Pictures from the Catskills always put me in mind of the Appalachian Trail (although I am not sure off the top of my head if it is part of the trail). Such a beautiful area; I hope we are able to visit it one day.

Welcome to the Forum, you'll enjoy your visits. East TN is really nice, we had friends in Tellico Plains and really enjoyed our visits. Well, except the time the brakes on the motorhome went half out and I had to drive with the transmission down the 50 mile parkway into Tellico Plains.
Anyway, just outside of town are some beautiful river shots just waiting for you to arrive with a camera......

"Well, except the time the brakes on the motorhome went half out"
YIKES! Not a good place for brake failure!

You probably know; but Tellico Grains Bakery is a favorite place when we ride up that way.

Nice to meet you. What bikes do you ride? East TN is great for bikes. I go there couple times each year near Telico Plains.

Jeff - BMW 650gs

Hi Jeff,

I hope to see you on the road sometime. GS is a great bike!

I currently ride a Suzuki DL650 and a Kawasaki C10 (ZG1000, the reason for my forum name ZGirl )
My husband and I share a BMW R1100S. I have to admit he rides it more often as he is the bigger hooligan.

The property we purchased is about 40 miles North of Chattanooga on a mountain not far from Fall Creek Falls. We try to make it there often. Unfortunately, the last couple of trips involved meeting with builders and such, not time to ride much. There are some gap roads over there that I'll have to work up courage to run... really just one lane, paved, goat paths.

Tellico Plains and Fontana Dam area are a couple of our faves. Hellbender 28 is much more fun IMHO than the Dragon.

Hi Folks,

I've been lurking around a bit and finally decided I should introduce myself. I live in West TN, but my husband and I purchased property and are moving to beautiful East TN where I have dreamed of living my entire life.

I have always loved art and when my husband and I moved to California in the '80's I purchased a Pentax K1000 so I could capture images of the coast and forests to sketch or paint later. Years later when we moved here, film was rapidly being replaced by digital and for a time my camera was relegated to the closet.

My husband and I are both motorcyclists and I purchased a Canon SD1100 IS to throw in the tank-bag when we were on a road trip or camping. This re-kindled my spirit and encouraged by friends, I gradually upgraded over the past 4 years or so.

Knowing our plan to move and I would be leaving my job, I gradually began building up equipment (while I had a good job and funds to pay for it). I have been studying, and preparing like mad so that someday I could give myself a chance to do what I love. I built a computer that has the speed and storage I need. I have been shooting air shows and motorcycle races and nature and anything else that wanders into my view. I still have a lot to learn but I enjoy learning.

Anyway, this forum is much like a couple of motorcycle forums my husband and I frequent. If you want an opinion it looks as if you will be given all sides of the subject in very short order.

This looks like a great community in which there is a lot to learn, laugh and debate. Thanks for the opportunity to say hello.

Gloria
