Has anyone got the new fugi s1? I want to know if the image quality is better than the Fuji hs50exr that has gotten pretty good reviews on this site. I know the sx50 canon and the lumix fz200 are highly rated, but I am curious to see if the new S1 matches these other cameras.
I was talking about the s1 not the x-s1. They are different cameras.
According to the specs I saw, the s1 has the longer zoom and a smaller sensor.
I've finally narrowed my search for a good travel bridge camera to the Fuji hs50exr and the new Fuji s1. Has anyone out there gotten the s1 yet and if so, how is it. It seems to me on specs alone that the hs50 is better except for the Wi-Fi and waterproof feature on the new model. Does any Fuji owner out there have any suggestions about these two cameras.
Thanks. I did not think about testing in a store. I'm sure the stores must hate that because they know that most people end up buying the cameras online.
Thanks Daleh. I appreciate your thoughts. I also was looking at the Fuji hs50exr which has a very sturdy feel and has lots of features. Do you feel the quality of pics is as good as the canon sx50 and the lumix fz200?
I appreciate everyone's opinions and after further research I'm still uncertain. Everyone says the sx50 is the best bet. Yet many reviews say the LUmix fz200 is excellent as is the Fuji hs50ex and the sony hx300. I would like to have a fair amount of zoom but do not want to sacrifice quality photos. Especially since I like to blow up some of my travel pics to 16x20 size. I don't want to spend more than $500 as well. I decided I want a evf, flip out screen, hot shoe and a quality lens. Am I asking for too much or are there so many different choices with each one having its own pros and cons? I also like the feel of the sony and the Fuji - they feel better and sturdier in my hands. Confused?
I was trying to take a smaller and lighter camera when I travel. But you're probably right, I could take the 3i with my tamron 18-270 and that would not be heavy.
Everyone seems to feel the same way as you about the sx50. I just wonder if I should hold out until the update to this camera?
Thanks for the recommendation. Do you think the picture quality with the Lumix fz2oo rials the canon and the sony?
I own a T3i with several lenses and am looking for a good travel bridge camera. My search has been cut down to the Canon sx50 and the LUmix fz70 & lumix fz200. Has anyone heard if new Canon sx60 is ready for sale yet? I will use the camera for mostly landscapes and other travel shots. Is the 2.8 on the fz200 with shorter zoom better than the canon's longer zoom of 1200mm? I could use some guidance from the experts?
