Exactly. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice-cream.

Has anyone seen or heard anything about Regis. He used to post pictures of eagles catching fish near Coeur D lene Idaho?

As anyone used a wimberley MH-100 for monopods ? I would be using it with nikon d500 with tamron 150-600
Not sure it will handle the weight ? Or just how it’s handling ? Thanks

I have the MH100. I put it on a Gitzo monopod. It takes some getting used to, but with practice and with the techniques Steve Perry talks about in how to use the Mh100 I'm sure you will find it a good tool on a monopod. I like using mine.

Paul, yes, definitely. Too much gear can be a curse.
Thanks for all your feedback.
Much appreciated

Paul, because I have several tripods and monopods, it’s somewhat confusing to select a combination that applies to all. I have the Slik that won’t accept the ARCA Swiss, travel smaller styles and mono pods large and small. Unfortunately it’s not one size fits all

Thank you CMC. Steve always has informative and educational video. I'll probably just go with one particular head and a quick release lever head and attachments to cameras and lens collars.
Thanks again.

What's a tripod for? Stability.

What is a Frankenstein solution? 'Clamping' a head to an incompatible tripod.

Put the head on the screw-mount (aka post) of the tripod. Put the clamp on the head. Attach the camera's L-plate to the clamp or the lens-plate of the collar to the clamp. Focus and shoot.

Thanks, Paul

Hi, Longshadow,
Completely unrelated question.
Re: tripod configuration. Would it be reasonable to attach a quick release directly to a tri pod and attach different heads to the quick release?
Or attach a particular head and then a quick release to the head?

Thank you,
Lindmike
