First check the thread size of your tripod, is it only 1/4 20? does it allow the larger European thread? Get this down first and then make sure your new head will fit your tripod.

Larger European Thread????? It is just a "standard" 3/8-in, notice INCH, not millimeters.

Know nothing about phones, or your budget - a good bit about "Old School". If you can afford a new DF, or find a good used one, I believe you'll feel right at home.

Edit: I don't do video, neither does the DF, so if video is what you're looking for, disregard my comment!

The DF does NOT do video.

Does anyone have an original owners manual (english) For a Nikon d7000 they would care to get rid of?

There's an outlet over in England that sells (spiral) bound copies of almost any manual. Used to be called OTC (otcworld.co.uk), now known as "printed-manual.com". Owners name is Jeff. I've used them for all of my older manual (Mamiya, Linhof, etc.), reasonably priced. You can go on their website or email jeff at jeff@otcworld.co.uk.....

My sincere apologies to everyone.
I meant "Darktable".

Sorry for all the confusion.
I guess my Hebrew isn't as good as I thought.

If you download and set (install) it from one of the "open source" websites, you'll get it in English, and, it will do both portrait and landscape files. Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVxHNxYwINY for the info on downloading and installation.

Affinity is an incredible bargain at $50 and is often on sales for less. Luminar is in its own way very powerful, and offers a fairly good library organization.
Suggest you go to YouTube and look for JCristina, then look for his series "Cutting the Cord" in which he evaluates all the various software packages that replace Photoshop and Lightroom, either for free or for a fraction of the cost, and without monthly payments.

GIMP is also an "incredible bargain (free)", but about as hard to learn as PhotoShop. Couple it with DarkTable (or some of the other "freeware" front-end products), and it's almost like having both Lightroom and PS.

Avoid Epson, I had one of their printers and the printhead leaked disastrously. Ruined the printer, the stand and the paper I had stored under the stand.

You must have had a (one-off) LEMON then. I still have (and use) my Epson R1800 that I have had for the last 7+ years, without a single problem.

I purchased Fix-It Utilities in October 2017 and have had quite satisfactory use with annual renewals. This month (July) I was charged for the annual renewal. I contacted Avanquest and inquired "why are you charging me the annual renewal in July when the purchase date was October? I got no satisfactory reply. Later that day I received an email saying the renewal was refunded and the service cancelled. The program has disappeared from my computer and I cannot find a phone number for service, entering my log in only shows "computers off line" even though the computer is obviously connected. Any one else had problems with Fix-It Utilities? Why can't I get a phone number for service? What programs are others using with their computers without any nonsense?

Waste of time, money and effort practical space travel is impossible. The nearest planet compatable to earth is with current realistic speed is 40,000 years away. Put this effort into sorting out our own beautiful blue spaceship

Do you have a microwave in your kitchen. How about a cell phone in your pocket. Many MANY things that we all (now) came to reality as "tidbits" from the space initiatives. How about you get rid of EVERYTHING that was helped/invented/resourced by it. Then, I guess you'd be happier if ALL of THESE THINGS / ACCOMPLISHMENTS didn't exist (or, better yet, that they would be FORBIDDEN to be used by you), eh ?

Passwords can be a problem especially as we are often forced to change them at regular intervals and I run out of ideas. Yesterday I had to change my bank password so I tried "chicken" that was not acceptable as the password had to contain a capital - strange then that "chickenkiev" wasn't allowed either. I'm stumped.

Simple answer to your question; does"chickenkiev" contain a capital (uppercase) letter, or not, eh ?

Just wondering, but why would the government put forth that much and include hydroxychloroquine. I believe all studies related to its use as treatment of COVID-19 has shown it is ineffective and recommendations are that it should not be used.

Apparently, your reading on this subject (HCQ) is extremely LIMITED; about 6,000 doctors have that it is working when taken along with zthromax and zink. Please do a little better research the next time. We all know that you are only taking this position for POLITICAL purposes, eh ?

Adding Documentation to Family Photos

Contains links to ways to generate an outline of the group. There are several different editing programs that can place numbers on the people. Discussed in the links. (I think Photoshop does the best job but I have not tried Photoshop alternatives. You might be able to use the Photoshop methods in other software to get something useful.

PS: If you plan to distribute digital copies of the photo there are two ways I recommend:

(1) one page with the photo, the outline, and the names. This keeps the documentation with the photo. If someone wants to display just the photo it's possible to crop out all the documentation, but that could generate problems down the line if the documentation gets separated from the photo.

(2) a PDF consisting of two pages, one page with the photo and the other page with the outline and names. The PDF could be printed double sided so that someone could display the photo, but the documentation would be on the other side so it would not get separated. The limitation to this method is that the PDF should be printed double sided, and most people have printers that don't do that. I don't know if any commercial photo printers (Walmart, Costco, etc.) can print double sided, but possibly if you get a print you could get someone to print on the other side of it (assuming the photo paper doesn't have logos or other things printed on the back).

Every Epson inkjet that I have owned has double sided printing capability, even the really "cheap" ones (all-in-ones).

I recommend the Epson perfection 850 scanner. It will pick up subtle tones that are missed by most other flatbeds out there. It's one of the best scanners available that will satisfy your needs well into the future. Plus it can handle any slides, film or other media you might use. Good luck!!

At a rather exorbitant price, eh ?
