Point of view....to frame or not to frame. I am leaning toward the second shot as the better one.

Left the restaurant last night to head home and looked up at this amazing sunset. I just had to grab the camera and snap off a couple of shots.

This is my first try at using an extension tube to alter my point of view. Head on at an orbweaver it turned into a four-eyed monster!

I am glad I am looking at this now instead of right before bed---kind of scary but great detail

what kind of a pile is it?

My husband has a pile of "stuff" behind the shop. His point of view is that it is valuable scrap metal---my idea is that it is junk! But one day as I was mowing back there I did notice that there were some interesting shapes on that pile needing their picture taken!

My question--I've been shooting with a Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D SLR since 2005. Prior to going digital, I had the film version, the Maxxum 5. Over the years I have accumulated several lenses.
I've been doing some baby and child photography for friends and family and am finally at the point I'm going to make it a business. I need a second camera for back up, especially since my 7D seems to be a little "finicky" at times.
I'm torn between going the Canon/Nikon route, or buying something in the Sony family so I can use the lenses I already have. Any thoughts? I'd welcome any pros and/or cons to the Sony, especially the a 57 or a65.
If your advice is to go Canon or Nikon, which model would you suggest. I'd like to stay around $800 to $1000.
Thanks in advance for any and all responses. I'd like to be confident enough to make the purchase!!

Are there any Ritz Camera stores in your area? They are going out of business all over the country and have some great deals on all merchandise. I bought a Sony A65 there in Dec. and now it is $300 less for the ones left in the store. I do love this camera

I'm definitely well fed, but then Thanksgiving is fast approaching. Not sure if that is just a coincidence or not.
