Wow, a Ferrari in Norway is NOT a common sight, and with their VAT, this is a seriously expensive auto in Norway. Your sister's boyfriend is a heck of a guy to lend you his car for the day, you are very lucky - and if you had the chance to drive it as it was meant to be driven on some great Norwagian driving roads, you're doubly lucky. On my last trip to Norway I kept thinking " I wish I was driving something besides this rental car . . . "

Great shot! Straight out of the camera, or have you done any post processing? What equipment do you use, and what were the settings?

Thanks for sharing this great shot.

I'm new to the forum as well, and so far I'm beyond favorably impressed with what I've seen here. I haven't seen a single case of arrogant arguing about whether Canon, Nikon or Sony (etc) is better, just very helpful and insightful comments from knowledgable and friendly people.

Welcome aboard!

Birdpix - your comments are very insightful, thought provoking, and will make me think much deeper about the photos I take.

Thanks for making me think!

Be proud of it - if it were mine, it would definitely be included in my portfolio, 'lucky' shot or not, you were in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing with your camera. Great shot!

I guess the world isn't that small, after all. (Phew!). Your church is a couple of hundred miles north of the one on Talje, where my relatives live, it looks so much like the one in your great photo.

Enjoy the weather and beauty of Norway this summer, Norway is such an amazingly beautiful place, it seems hard to find a place that isn't amazing to photograph, so please post more of your photos.

Fulfilling ' the measure of their creatiion' sometimes isn't a pretty picture. But your shots are amazing and definitely evoke an emotional response in the viewer. Thanks for posting.

Wow, I've never seen one in person. You're very lucky. Amazing bokah, what lense are you using?

Hallo, jeg snakke lit Norsk. Er den Kjerken på Talje, vis den er der, så kjenner ve noken of de samme folk.

Please let me know, the world would be incredably small if it was so.

Great shot, by the way.

Looks HDR but Norway is so beautiful this time of year that it could be straight out of the camera.

A few weeks ago, I showed some of my work to a friend who had invited me over for a wonderfully well cooked dinner. When I was done showing my pics, she said "You must have a really good camera", I laughed and replied "you must have a really good stove". She immediately got the analogy, and we both laughed. My point is hopefully obvious, it's not the specifications of the lense, the pixels of the camera, or the reviewer's opinion that makes for a great shot. I think that what we are all trying to accomplish is making wonderful, memorable images that emotionally impact the viewer. If we have the skill, experience, knowledge AND talent, but we are using equipment that got an unfavorable review or only 2 stars from someone who is a supposed expert, we all know that we will likely make a much better image than someone who has all the equipment that is rated 'best' by DPReview or has all 5 stars on Amazon.

Before you buy an expensive lense, camera or other piece of photo equipment based on someone else's opinion, I suggest that you find a retailer that rents equipment and try it out for yourself. After all, doesn't the most important opinion of whether something 'works' well for you come from the one holding it and using it? That would be the one looking back at you in the mirror.

Because we all see the world around us through our own set of eyes and with our own set of values, no review from another individual, however 'expert' they may be, can give us the talent we may be lacking by telling us that this lense is sharper than another, this lense has creamier bokah, etc.

Try before you buy, be your own expert reviewer, your skills and talent are what produces excellent results, not the opinion of a reviewer. So, to answer your question, discount any reviewers opinion but your own.

Thanks for reading, I hope my opinion doesn't offend anyone.
