And in US schools, creativity is now stifled.

I think that's part of the problem there. We don't tend to encourage creativity very much...but I think related to that is there seems to me to be less interest in creativity overall.
I don't see any issue with whether or not creativity can be taught. I'm wondering if the bigger question isn't "can/will creativity be learned?" Our brains are all wired differently, some folks just aren't very creative by nature, others excel at it. But creativity 'can' be taught...but will it be learned? And is there any desire to learn?

This couple visits the feeder almost daily and hardly ever at the same time.
Taken through the double-pane insulated glass from garage door. Used my Canon 60d and my newly acquired (but used) canon 100-400L and LR for post work. Photo is cropped just a bit for composition.
Such cool looking birds! C&C welcome as always...I've got so much to learn and ya'll are the best!

Bloke, I'm using StarStaX, which is easy to use and free. I use it cause it was free and runs on my Mac. I believe it has several settings where it can fill in some of those gaps.
A question, what are your settings? I recently did a star trails over several hours, 284 images all together, that came out pretty good, at least for me. I set my ISO at 3200, with long exposure (can't remember how long).
Good luck and keep at it.

What a great ending! And those photos are just outstanding! I'm thinking that little duck knows you by name and knows exactly what you did for him...or her.

Don't happen to have a link do you buddy?

Yup, this is the one I got:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0081EC08M/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But if you do a search on Amazon for 'shutter release' you'll get other options too. I really can't say why I got this one other than mostly closing my eyes and pointing to it. It's a cheap start.
Good luck and be sure to post your shots!

This/These are fantastic! I have a cheap remote shutter but not sure how to use the auto thing.

Keep playing and trying...you might even be able to google that thing and get some info that way. Mine was so cheap, you take the batteries out to shut it down, no switch and it doesn't go into a sleep mode. And, if I remember correctly, there were no directions that came with it. According to the comments that were made, others reported all that too. But cheap won my heart! So, it was just play and practice till I figured it out. Good luck!

I have a meeting with the 'game wardens' in the morning. If they can't fix it then you're getting her. Fair enough?

Beautiful photograph! This might be one of those occasions where you just 'worry' her to death with a camera and follow her every step. Shame some folks out there feel they're the only ones that can save the world...

Hi mrova... very nice photoghaph... I have taken a few of these myselfbut I get bored after a while and end up only taking 70 - 80 shots
Well done...

Thank you Ed...I understand that! I'd get bored to tears too. I used a remote timer that I got off Amazon for about $16 bucks, so cheap there's no on/off switch! Obviously there are much better ones out there.
But I set it up to take 250 photos, 32 seconds long, wait 8 seconds before it snaps the next one. It was over several hours and I ran out one time to stop it, and immediately restarted it, which started the count all over again.
Just like the Ronco commercials - Set it and Forget it!

Lovely. What software did you stack these with and where can we see the flick?

Thank you! I used StarStaX...I had done a google search for stacking software for a Mac and found this one. Seems to do a pretty good job and is very simple to use.

The video can be found at this link (Mods, if that's not OK to post, my apologies). You do not have to have a facebook account to view it. When the window comes up, be sure to click the HD at the bottom right to view it in the best image.
See if you can count the number of aircraft!

I've been playing around with star trails and such. This is my latest attempt at playing around. These were taken with my Canon 60d, using my sigma 8-16 @ 8mm, f4.5 at ISO 3200, and 32 second exposure. This is a total of 284 images stacked.
I also took all the images and created a 38 second video so you could see the motion.

Circles, circle, circles.

Love that second shot for the deep blue sky and orange sunset (or city lights?). The ISS makes for great experimental photography!

Great shots - stay with it. Not difficult to hand-hold...but, there's a spot in the eagle shot. You may want to use Photoshop to remove it. But do consider having the lens cleaned from the inside. Cheers & happy shooting...
Shivy

Thanks shivy! On that spot, someone earlier mentioned about cleaning the sensor. I was so excited about the picture, I never saw that spot. I'll be checking that out. Thanks again!
