Hi,
Currently the proud owner of a Nikkon 5100.
Looking for a lense to use for architecture and walk around stuff in an old town ( Prague and others ) . The one part of the town that I would really like good photos of is an old cemetery. I am not weird , honest , its just that this place has some historic importance and the unusual feature of stacked graves and loads of rare and unusual headstones in very close proximity.
Will be On a river cruise. Previously have used the 70-300 with its VR11 a lot when travelling on the river. Stop in towns and have found the 18-55 OK but perhaps not a wide enough angle and would love to have a higher quality .
Used a friend's 12-24 Nikkor 2.8 last night , WOW, only thing no VR. Carrying around a tripod and chasing after the tour guide tricky and not practical.
Was chasing a grail , one lense to carry round or perhaps not more than two, but now think I may be stupid.
Have:
18-55 Kit DX lense and a 70-300FX (One day we will go full frame ), also have access to ,( ie borrow from son ):
18-200DX (3.5+ ?) Nikkor
50mm 1.4 Nikkor
10-24 Sigma
70-100 Nikkor Micro
Very confused so
Suggestions please !!! PLEASE !!!!
I am very new to this photography compulsion, introduced by my son , who is very keen . Now I have been totally sucked in.
Bought a Nikon 5100 about a month ago and already planning my next purchase. Did regret not going a bit more high end but now realise that I have a lot to learn and need to wait, not as simple as I thought !!!
Will be posting some question but do not understand what I am doing so please be gentle with me !
