Beautiful pics Thanks! How much did you pay for the Sony 100mm? I know the Minolta 100 is available on eBay. That’s where I bought mine but paid around $350 a few years ago. It’s completely Mint! I got lucky as they can be moldy and have issues due to age. I think when Sony people realize the awesomeness of this Minolta lens everyone will buy one and save hundreds over the same branded Sony! I do agree the Minolta 70-210 f4 Macro is nearly as good. And it’s just Cool!

Wow bnsf you got some Sony! I own the a77ii, 100mkii and the Sony RX10 iv. It’s funny how brand dependent some folks are especially Cannon and Nikon users. They hate to think that another company, especially Sony, might make a substantially better camera! I find it amusing especially if they never owned or used a high end Sony mirrorless camera. Every non-biased review I’ve read put the Sony systems way ahead of Cannon. Nikon is rarely mentioned.

Never bashed Cannon Sir I don’t shoot Cannon where did I bash it? I was talking about the superior Sony mirrorless camera systems compared to the Cannon mirrorless system. What is the Cannon mirrorless system your talking about?Does Cannon even have a Full Frame mirrorless camera available now? The only thing agreeable is the fantastic AF system Cannon has. The best available! Do you own an A77ii, a9 or an A7 Riii camera? Ever shoot Sony? I’d love to see where you got your info about better picture quality? If you don’t own or shoot Sony why bash em? Sony is so far ahead of Cannon in the mirrorless field it will take them years to catch up if they ever can. That’s just the reality of the situation! Good Luck with Cannon! I also think Cannon is Great but won’t comment on something I don’t know about. How bout you?

I don’t believe so! Look @ the A9 or the A7iii. Very advanced compared to Cannon which has to play catch up to Sony in regards to mirrorless Canon! I definitely dispute that Cannon has better color and Sony’s AF video is vastly superior! Read the specs and reviews. I can tell your a Cannon guy which is fine but don’t bash Sony as they have the most choices and the most advanced mirrorless camera systems available!

Why Cannon and not Sony? I think Sony makes the best mirrorless cameras on the planet! I own 3. Will never look back!

I believe they did. Added a couple of buttons and raised the price Significantly! The “new” Sony lens isn’t any better from the reviews I’ve read. The Minolta is a Must Have lens in my opinion!

I’m referring to the Minolta 70-210mm f4 lens. Didn’t know they made a fixed 200mm f4!

No desire to sell these gems they are both Mint! I’ve taken wonderful Macro shots with the beer can and it’s seems as sharp as the 100 even blown up! The bokeh of both is Amazing. Although the beer can is slower I can zoom in and not scare butterflies, etc. I never use AF when shooting Macro always MF. I think MF let’s you get a sharper picture! Thanks!

Has anyone used either of these wonderful lenses? I have a mint copy of the original Minolta 100mm on my Sony A77 ii and cannot believe the image quality of this old (1986?) lens! I also use the Beer Can for macro work which also produces amazing images. I read that Minolta made their own glass for these lenses. Can’t decide which lens is better for Macro photography. Thoughts?

I recommend Lightroom 6 DVD, that is if you can find it, requires no subscription is fully supported by Adobe and is the last version of Lightroom available on DVD. Adobe wants to make big bucks now by only offering a subscription service which ends up being Very Expensive to use for long term!

No Bro’ wrong guy. I meant the Nikon poster. You and I are in agreement of a true pocket camera. I don’t know why others keep talking about much larger cameras they consider pocket size Lol!

That’s not even close to being a pocket camera Sir! No offense.

None of the listed above listed cameras are pocket sized! Try to compare any Small Point & Shoot to the Sony RX100 series footprint. They truly fit in my shirt pocket! I think that’s what the original poster wanted a small point and shoot camera with amazing specifications that would fit in his pocket. Just my opinion and I am an actual user!
