The weekend challenge can be interpreted 2 different ways, and I hope you will try both ways......

First, when taking a photograph of someone, how do you bring life to their eyes and capture the personality and essence of the photo that you would like to capture?? What do you want us to know about the person????

Beautiful girls and great challenge! I love the interpretation of Juli's strength of character and racing through life with barely a backwards glance! My first photo is of a very dear and close friend who has been through unimaginable pain and sadness this past year but still her beauty and strength shines through - so I'd give this one the title of "Survivor Eyes" The second is a bit of fun as half a dozen of our party are reflected in her eyes! The third is myself with one of my pups about to fly the nest - they are happy eyes knowing we'd done a good job and found them excellent loving, forever homes and the last, I hope speaks for itself:-)

Forgotten Bridge is one of my favorites, and the original of Blue Mist is hanging in the home of a member of the Royal Family in Saudi Arabia. Had to toot my horn a little. I start work at 8am tomorrow and will get home around 2am Sunday, then back to work at 9am. Daughter is taking me out to dinner Sunday evening. In case there is no time on Sunday HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you.

what is meant by red tide?

Thanks for looking plessner, and for your comment. Red tide is a kind of algae bloom that kiils certain types of fish, when the wind is out of the west it may bring this bloom to the beach. We then have dead fish and seaweed washing up on the shore, and the red tide can make it hard to breath. It is not something you want on your beach. It doesn't happen often, but when conditions are perfect it occurs.

sounds kind of nasty--thanks for the info
this site is so informative in so many ways

wow, wow, wow! It always seems that the day after an ice storm is always beautifal! Almost makes me miss Michigan, almost.

It is beautiful after an ice storm, but this was just really heavy frost. I would miss the seasons and I love this part of winter, but I am about ready for spring. :-D

a beautiful shot that can make us forget about the cold for a while!

Thank you. It was so pretty it did indeed make the cold easy to forget. I bet you are lots colder than us.
