Thanks for the tips, much appreciated. Regarding the haze do you know if a filter such as a polarizing filter would prevent that??
Thanks again
Drove north to Algonquin Park on Friday wanting to get some fantastic displays of the fall colours, the tops of the trees have already dropped their leaves, sure glad we didn't wait another week.
Any comments to point me in the right direction to get better shots are most welcome.

Thought I would get out for a few hours on the boat today but the weather didn't agree.
So I took a few pictures in the marina before the rain started.
Maybe next weekend!

Not weird at all!! We sang yours at our hockey games too.
Good neighbours are hard to find, love having you guys next door. I am a little biased though two of my granddaughters are American and Canadian.
I was hoping to photograph some of the big flocks of geese heading south over the next couple of weeks.
btw, nice pictures!!!
Good Morning, I finally treated myself to a new camera yesterday, charged up the battery and tried a few shots this morning, nothing fancy and all automatic to see how good this is right from the box.
The compositions are terrible just some shots around the yard, still in my pj's, lol
The new baby is the Canon 6d with the 24 - 105 lens, I am soooo happy!!!!

Thanks to all for the welcomes and Rich thanks for the tip. I tried it out and it does make it look better. I wasn't very happy with the focus and couldn't figure out if it was me or ???? Anyway, cleaned the lens and the sensor yesterday of my old Rebel XT and took some pictures and it is still taking good pictures, just needed a little bit of TLC.
Hi all, I have been lurking for the past week or so and have been inspired by all the great photos I have seen. I am at the dabbler stage of photography but want to get better at composing and taking better shots. Most of my efforts will be landscapes, seascapes, sailboats and of course my grandchildren.
Any and all suggestions will always be appreciated!
