Thank you, Jim. You did a wonderful job. I did a lot of research last spring (after getting my Sony SLT A33 camera) on aperture, shutter speed, and ISO (on line, magazines, books). Then go out and practice, reread and practice, again and again before I started to grasp what it all meant. After reading this, I think I now know what to do to get better pictures at my granddaughter's dance shows.

I enjoy taking my camera, slowing down, observing, and taking pictures of nature. But my pictures at best are mediocre.

Alaskan,
I also enjoy the photos you take. In my eyes you are a master at it. I am very much an amateur with a desire to learn and to improve my skills.
I also like the pictures of the old farmhouse, especially the second one that shows two sides of the old farm house.
Would have been fun to watch him get the apple up the tree. But he sure is enjoying it.
Cute little guy. Never realized squirrels ate apples.
I would vote for #3. It is the only one that looks and feels like it is a snowy winter day. It has snow covered trees and ground which softens the landscape. #3 tells me more than the others do. I like how the totem pole and house stand out in the photo as well.
