No changes.
Camera will remain as set when powered off.

*Currently using a D5500.

**I normally set back to a general utility setting such as 320ss f8 auto ISO. on my 18-300mm in case something pops up quickly.

Question more than feedback. Did you use a tripod with your night shots?

Photo #5 just calls out to me for some reason for the composition.

Only used a tripod on #3.

Agreed on #5, I liked the reflection is all I can say.
Also it's one of the ones friends seemed to like.

Taking a short stacation and found myself bored.

I wasn't after any kind of specific shots, more exploring with light, shadows and reflections.

The odd thing is, the reactions I got on FB. The ones I thought were "Meh" seemed to get the most attention / likes.
The ones I liked barely got a mention.

Feedback welcome.

Love the shot, great tone, color combo, nice highlights!
Great natural looking model, looks comfortable and having fun.

Now my question.. Whats with the tree branch?
Everything else in the shot looks like it belongs there and then there is this leafy thing.

My apologies it's a light critique, and I've always had a less is more aesthetic.
I do like the shot. Just one of those little things that once seen cannot be unseen.

Just a sales/marketing tactic.

Similar to throwing out HP numbers on cars.
Means nothing without knowing a host of other specs.

Found a new app that I am starting to like.

I was not impressed with the Nikon WMU for remote use even at a casual level.

This one actually mirrors your native info screen and allows remote adjustments.
*Still haven't worked out the autofocus but not really a priority/issue for tripod shots.

Anyways, thought I'd share with fellow phone junkies and those looking to decrease junk in their bags.

To answer a few questions that have come up.

1. I was advised that the Nikon 18-300 provides less than ideal quality when opened fully. Hence the f8 f11.

2. Issues with prep Softball-Baseball. I'm usually having to deal with an 8' chain link fence.
So that means getting right on the fence, finding a "hole" that works for comfort and sight angles.
Now think of that restriction when popping from infield to outfield.

If I step up to something like a Sigma 150-600 I end up with all the lens I need, but every shot will be partially obscured by the fence.

Thank you all for the input, it is appreciated

I wanted to fill the frame as much as possible.

Got it!

Always curious.
I've just started with letting people into my nature shots both for perspective and to add story/life. But think that may turn them more into snapshots than art.

Nothing that hit me as super spectacular.
Got some light hikes in, but Painted Canyon in N. Dakota was a bust. *Pretty sure you have to have just the right light or interesting weather to make anything really pop out of the area.

Anyways the ones I thought were worth keeping mostly came out of Clarks Fork river on the Montana plains.

As always comments and suggestions welcome.

Not sure if I like people in the shot, but it does help for scale

I guess when you crop a image you end up with a lot of grain because of the auto ISO. If you would use 800 ISO you would end up with slower shutte.

Dropping below 1500 and I'll start getting blurred motions.
Might be an interesting artistic take on things.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Where were you sitting that 300mm wasn't long enough to get outfield shots?

I normally camp at the fence next to 3rd or 1st base.
Most of the interesting action happens at 2nd or 3rd, plus it's a good angle for catching the pitcher.

*Its possible I'm over zooming and should just crop in post.
