Typical liberal, "it's all the conservatives fault!" It sucks to be you when all the evidence proves that that is just so much blind drivel.

Well, I've been away from the HOG for awhile and was unaware until a friend clued me into the new section called the Attic. Out of the sort of morbid curiosity one sees daily while passing a wreck on the freeway, I just had to look and see for myself what sort of mayhem there was to see. All I can say is that it's like I haven't been gone at all. The same liberals casting aspersions with the same sophomoric name calling they were using when last I wasted my time here, and unfortunately many of the conservatives are not living up to the bible... "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him." —Proverbs 26:4 (King James version) or the more updated version... "Don’t argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." —Greg King.

Folks, many of you are sinking to their level and they are way more experienced at slinging mud. Remember when you wrestle with a pig you both end up covered in the mud.

Lest I be tempted to waste my time any further... carry on, I'm outa here!

I'm sorry, but I disagree profoundly with this article, and it's being here; it makes the author and those who sympathize look very, very small. I hope those readers and the author experience enough growth in their lives eventually to be embarassed.

The Obamas have been treated very rudely by a large portion of our society, and it's not just politics, and this is another example.

Shame.

It's true that they life a life that a very large portion of mankind would envy.

Does anyone think that's been easy?

Politicians in public life have said rude thing about her weight, and those same men would start throwing punches if anyone said the same about their own wives.

Donald Trump is a joke, but no one was classless enough to make jokes about his wife because of it.

Nancy Reagan had some sort of spiritualist advisor <it's spelled "adviser"> in the White House, but no one attacked her dignity over it, much as they must be embarassed <it's spelled "embarrassed"> about it.

Does it make anyone proud that they attacked the dress of the two daughters at that silly turkey pardon affair at Thanksgiving?

I think it is perfectly appropriate for a successful black adult to address a black college class, and share the additional burden they carried with a graduating class that will bear that same burden.

And this article is just the sort of burden they all have to share together, to the shame and embarassment <it's spelled "embarrassment"> of some portion of white society.

Who is there that should be proud of this? I am sorry to see this, and sorry and embarassed <at least you're consistent> that someone thought I would like to see it.

It is a disgrace.
I'm sorry, but I disagree profoundly with this art... (show quote)

If you honestly think MO's speech was appropriate, educate yourself with this little tidbit...

I hate to nit-pik, but someone tried to make a simple joke that's been around a long time and make it so complicated as to be inane. I was able to tell that joke from memory back then, now it's so complicated as to be beyond memorization. The clincher for me was that they changed the herd to sheep, which means there were not 1586 cows and calves, but ewes and lambs, which means bud would never have given one up. Sorry O2 but this gets a

Morals shouldn't be set by the public education system. They should be instilled at home.

I couldn't agree more, but the schools now days seem to encourage the complete lack of any at all. If it feels good do it, seems to be the moral compass of the public schools.

I have a very good friend who is a liberal atheist. He is also a scientist. He is sending his child to Catholic School because the public school is such a joke.

My younger brother was such a problem child when he was young that although we were not Catholic, our folks sent him to catholic school for several years to do what the public school system couldn't or wouldn't do. They yanked him up straight and it worked well, he ended up being a cop for 25 years. LOL

Let's not forget that punctuation is also the difference between helping your uncle Jack, off a horse and helping your uncle, jack off a horse.

Life offers education too, how many of us accept it all the time?

True, but that reminds me of another favorite quote, "Learn from others mistakes, you won't live long enough to make them all yourself."

Of course I agree. Now you don't have to discuss evolution. My intent at this time is not to defend evolution, just to say that a major motivation for home schooling is to keep children from being exposed to evolution.

I would disagree, I think the major motivation in home schooling is that parents want their children to be educated without the indoctrination of the public education system. I know several families who have home schooled their kids and only one is what you might consider very religious. One thing they do have in common however is they're all concerned about the complete lack of morals and liberal bias in the public education system.

As for education, the U. S. offers it, but many don't accept it.

Very true Jerry, I've said for years that you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink, and you can lead a man to knowledge, but you cannot make him think.

Ten Things That Will Disappear In Our Lifetime (Surprising!)

While some of this may be somewhat plausible, I think the bulk of it falls in with the mindset of Charles H. Duell who was the Commissioner of US patent office in 1899. Mr. Deull's is most famous for saying that "everything that can be invented has been invented." Which leads me to say I'll believe it when I see it.

Nothing will eliminate stupidity, you just can't fix it. Einstein said “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
