The white faced ibis change colors as the season progresses. Its amazing to watch and sometimes I have to make sure I didn't accidentally max the saturation button. But no, these colors are real. tks for looking

the last are white fronted?

I believe the geese in pics 7 and 8 are white fronted. They are called that but they are really mottled in my mind.
Hopefully If I am incorrect someone can correct me. I love shooting birds and have give several local powerpoint presentations but my great Audubon friends sometimes need to correct my id's.

I rarely see these guys. I was happy to get these images. I threw in a White Face Ibis just to top off the set.

Last Saturday's expedition was to the Edwin B. Forsythe Wildlife Refuge in Galloway Township, New Jersey. The day was chilly, which suppressed the flies, and to some extent, the other visitors. These photographs were made with my Nikon P-950 bridge camera. The birds represented here are a northern harrier, a juvenile bald eagle, and both a juvenile and an adult herring gull. I also made photographs with a Nikon D7500 and Sigma 150-500mm lens, which I will process and post later.

NICE!

Thanks for your comment. I may need to learn how to use a flash to balance the light. I didnt think it would be effective at big distances but I have to admit I have NO experience in the benefits and limitations of flash. Often with birds, the sun is FREQUENTLY in the wrong place. Now if I could only control the birds or the sun I'd be okay! but often my location is restricted by what's allowed or not in the areas I am shooting. That's what makes shooting birds challenging and fun at the same time.

Why would I use someone else's presets?
As a starting point?
Wouldn't final adjustments be unique to the photo?

I agree. Sometimes I will (when editing a series of photos taken under the same conditions) edit one picture and then apply the same adjustments in Adobe Camera Raw in Adobe Bridge to all the photos before moving on to PS. Then I sometimes don't even need to go to PS for any of the photos if I get the first edit just right.
