IMHO, when someone resorts to name calling it means they do not have a rational opinion to offer. If you disagree with someone you might be expected to present your side of the debate with evidence to support your position. Name calling is what school children do, particularly those who would be considered bullies.

This was initiated by others calling those of us asking for common courtesy ( wear your mask) Fascists. I am merely responding.

Newsflash, bunky......I wear a mask out in public because it’s required. I make no exceptions.

Also, the USA doesn’t have a huge lead in cases and deaths when one looks at it intelligently, which means on a per capita basis. In fact, not only are we well below many other countries (at least the ones not fudging numbers like China and Russia), but we are doing great on a state basis. In fact, every single state and territory of the USA has. 10% or below positive rate on tests. Oh.....we have also performed more tests than every nation on earth, and when you include antigen testing we dwarf the entire planet.

The result??? Well, given we are the third most populated country on earth we are doing damn well! If we were to subtract the gross incompetence of NY and NJ, we are cruising! Back out the tragedy of failures at long term care facilities and we are at the “minor flu” level.

Your virtue signaling is tiresome....... your thought process is limited and flawed as you refuse to accept data that doesn’t conform to your set viewpoints. Your confirmation bias is palpable.....because you believe COVID is the bogeyman who cannot be stopped anyone who disagrees is evil!

Grow up.

I am grown up. And I am in medicine. At least you wear a mask when required but I see, reluctantly? Indicating you are, as I mentioned, both selfish, and stupid and see no reason why you should be concerned about the welfare of any but yourself. PS. perhaps you would be less stupid if you knew what a fascist were? But, unfortunately, you would still be selfish. Wonder if you wear a seat belt or if you believe drinking and driving is ok and to say otherwise is an infringement on your rights?

That is why this Country has such huge leads in cases and deaths; because of people who will not do anything for their community residents. You guys don’t care if you kill others. If the question is minor inconvenience for you or death to anyone else; I know on which side you will come down. We have had a civil interaction before, but now I ses you really only care about you and not your fellow man in the slightest. Congratulations on your thought process.

Thanks for saying it. I wanted to but held off. They are selfish asses. They truly don't care about one thing beyond their selfish childish stupid "I won't wear a mask" attitude. They couch it in "I'm a Free american" and feel better. No. They are stupids. They may or may not take great photo's, but they are stupid. One, unmentioned, just loves to lurk and anytime someone says something he disagrees with just calls out Looser. he doesnt recognize what he is.

To all. Obesity is a multi factorial disease. Yes, in some cases it is gluttony but that is rare. Insulin and insulin resistance has a part in it. So does Leptin. So does your intestinal flora. Genetics. Calories in vs calories out. And others. At times, it seems you all are simplification or demonizing or passing judgement.

You need to dig and and research both the expected increase in suicides v. COVID and the expected devastation worldwide on children due to COVID (starvation and other diseases).

Also, if you look at the data you should conclude that our experience in the U.S. with this virus has so far been comparable but less severe than heavily populated European nations and outside of the Northeast, the comparison between this virus and the flu is valid despite what the media tells us.

medically there is no way to compare this virus to a flu. It is not what the media tells us, it is medical fact. We can disagree on many things about this mess, and we can do that reasonably, but I am in medicine and perhaps read things you do not have access to, but regardless, that comparison is not valid. The R0 and the fatality rates do not compare on an per capital basis. I admit it may be another 4 or so years to have accurate numbers, but so far, no comparrison.

You can parse definitions all you want, but he is correct that there has been severe increases in suicide and family violence since lockdown. And, to be clear, it has been a lockdown and it’s mostly still in place.

family violence I agree with. I have not seen statistics on suicide. Do you have any? Regardless, and while that is a tragedy, it pales in comparison to the virus without having had the shut down. Now we are "out", or coming out, and the bimodal "bump" will be seen. The shut down was necessary in my opinion, the gov't handling of it and the damage it did was obscene. They were not prepared to help those who needed financial help and that stimulus was paltry and tied up in politics.

Good post. It is too bad that there are those who just cannot understand any of the tenets of public health!

i point to Architect1776 as one who feels nothing applies to him, and all else are, in his words, Looser. Apparently he served, and no one else has any valid opinion. That's the problem. Each person, such as Architect1776 , feels we are taking his rights.

1. With rights, come responsibilities. You do not get one without the other.
2. You do not have a right to go into a store or say, my office, without a mask. You do not own the store. You do not own my office.
3. I assume you drive drunk, and without a seat belt, as it is, you feel, your right?

We cannot fix stupid. We cannot fix those who feel they are "patriots" when they are simply little petulant boys refusing to participate in a society. I ignore them. And, I do not treat them medically in my office. Not without a mask.

"Let's say you woke up with a terrible cough, a fever, and severe body aches. Immediately, you rush to the doctor and unfortunately, you’re diagnosed with COVID-19. For the last two weeks, you’ve been unaware that you were infected and you’ve ignored 'the rules.'You've gotten together with some close friends for pizza, had a few people over, even visited a park and a beach. You figured, 'I don’t feel sick. I have the right to keep living my normal life. No one can tell me what to do.'

"With your diagnosis, you spend the next few days at home on the couch, feeling pretty crappy; but then you’re well again because you’re young, healthy and strong. Lucky you. But your best friend caught it from you during a visit to your house, and because she didn't know she was contagious, she visited her 82-year-old grandfather, who uses oxygen tanks daily to help him breathe because he has COPD and heart failure. Now, he’s dead.

"Your co-worker, who has asthma, caught it too, during your little pizza get-together. Now, he’s in the ICU, and he's spread it to a few others in his family, too--but they won't know that for another couple of weeks yet.

"The cashier at the restaurant where you picked up the pizza carried the infection home to his wife, who has MS, which makes her immunosuppressed. She’s not as lucky as you, so she’s admitted to the hospital because she’s having trouble breathing. She may need to be placed in a medically-induced coma and intubated; she may not get to say goodbye to her loved ones. She may die surrounded by machines, with no family at her bedside.

"All because you couldn't stand the inconvenience of a mask; of staying home; of changing your familiar routines for just a little while. Because you have the right, above all others rights, to continue living your normal life and no one, I mean no one, has the right to tell you what to do.

I am in the market for a 70 - 200 mm lens. I have to wonder if canon is really worth the extra 4 or 50 bucks?

I also sure wouldn't turn down a 70-300 lens either. In terms of sharpness and speed of focusing and just over all accuracy who would you guys go with. I know, without knowing what I am going to do with it it is difficult but I currently ahve a less expensive canon 70-300 in the less expensive lens ( with the gold rim line) and want to know, for the cost, will I actually see an improvement.

My choices currently are ( and maybe a 1.4 for the 200 lens?)
Canon 70-300 f4-5.6 IS USM

Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS III USM

Sigma 70-200 F2.8 DG OS Hsm Sports lens

Thanks all

To use annual death rates by various causes you need to remember to factor in an extrapolated number of deaths from SERS cov 2 to an annual number. For example the current n UK number of covid 19 deaths in the USA is approx 89, 754 in approx a 2 month time. That would be 538, 524 if unabated. Meaning no new treatments. Failure to socially distance. Mask use or not and so on. The death rate from cardiovascular disease is averaged 610K a year. That makes covid 19 pretty nasty. This is a very simplified approach but you see why I feel respect for the health of others vs the "rugged individualist " approach.....also known as the " dont tell ME what to do" is the appropriate way to go. As an aside, I respect the rights of others when they are reasoned. Not influenced by either the trump can walk on water or the trump can do no good attitude. When I see those I do indeed roll my eyes and sometimes fire up my mouth

Brainwashed? Probably. Here is some science related to this. Medical statistics to monitor disease have been the same for approximately 100 years. The rule is how many cases per 100,000 people. I thought this a very good rule as it allows one to investigate lower population areas as well as the ability to go back into antiquity and compare illnesses. Ancient Rome is believed to have had at least a million people. This rule covers ALL DISEASE statistics as well as deaths from disease. The first clue something was wrong with Covid-19 counts was that they were counting cases per a MILLION people. This alone is a huge change.

Second clue was my investigation into Spain and Italy statistics. They were stated as being the worst hit countries. Well here is a fact that was never mentioned in the media. Both Italy and Spain have horrible pollution. The pollution is so bad that most people in those two countries have various levels of lung problems. The POLLUTION is a known problem. In Italy the Mafia controls all sanitation. It is highly profitable to dump illegally. The situation is so bad in Italy that on a travel web site it warned tourists not to go to the beaches due to raw sewage in the water and visible on the shore. All of this information was not revealed in the media.

How statistics are counted, and other circumstances that greatly contributed to high numbers of cases, as well as proven false statistics were all suppressed or ridiculed. Other scientists with high qualifications and noted doctor's voices were suppressed when they tried to be vocal about ANY information regarding Covid 19, if contrary to the main media message were not allowed. This alone is alarming!

In all things, all information should be available so that the audience can view and compare and come to their own conclusion. That is not what modern media allows. I see one message and one message only, and a great many efforts to stop any message that does not conform. If you do not believe this do a search for websites that are conservative, approximately 700 have been blocked from the Internet. Dennis Prager is blocked, his website is blocked and he is taking legal action against the big techies like You Tube and Google (one in the same really.) NaturalNews is another blocked website. Please note: I am not for or against either of these websites. I am against the removal of my choice to view or not.

One video that I saw about Covid-19 was done very well and the author asked people to go to local hospitals (in hard hit areas that were listed in the media) and send her clips of the long lines, etc. She received amazing clips and then had them next to the original news clips showing the contrary facts and manipulation quite clearly. No hate, no accusations, just the question of what is going on and why can't we be allowed to look at ALL information? That video was removed. THE CENSORING OF INFORMATION, GOOD- BAD - UGLY IS A DANGEROUS INDICATION OF CONTROL. NOT GOOD! NOT GOOD AT ALL.

Unfortunately the teaching of actual history in schools, along with the constitution and our GOD GIVEN RIGHTS is not longer taught and has not been taught for a long time. That is the main problem. GOD GIVEN RIGHTS to be emphasized is the idea that we get our rights from a source above man and only that source - NOT MAN can take them away.

If you ever think our rights are not being quietly stripped you would not believe what I went through to get my 88 year old friend, out of the psych ward he was Baker Acted into. There are laws in place to protect Alzhiemer's patients (which he was) and it is also illegal in Florida to put them on certain medications. These were not followed at all. It took finding a non-profit that fights for people's civil rights to get me an attorney and get him out of the psych ward. They also did not want us to know that he was put on 12 medications that turned him into a zombi. This was a huge ICE WATER DIP into a reality thrown into my face. He would have stayed in that psych ward until his insurance ran out or he died, if I had not found the non-profit that helped me.

It was the incident with the old man (in 2019) that really exposed many lies and what appeared to be no rights. That is what the medical staff made clear, they had rights, we had none! Based on this experience I know that a percentage of man is always seeking power and control. As evidenced quite strongly in history. Unless we wake up to these hidden factions and take action, we are in trouble. I now donate to the group that helped me get the friend out and I have since joined other groups fighting to protect our rights.

Hopefully you found this information helpful.

Oh, I forgot something important. In these situations the other clue is to always follow the money. That trail usually exposes who makes the most money and how. Follow the money - ALWAYS...

Hope this helps in a mannerly informative way.
