Being a small business owner not in the camera business however you are the type of customer I love. You complain about my prices on a quality product but when you need advice or service or actually want to physically hold something in your hand you expect me to bend over backwards to assist you. There is value that comes with service and support that obviously you can’t understand. I would’ve politely told you that you should order from B&H and walked away from the sale. There are some people I just don’t want to do business with. You fit that description.

I think it’s great that you are teaching her photography and the D90 is an excellent tool to learn with. But more important than the photography is the quality bonding time that you and she will share. Priceless!

I would call Apple tech support and explain the issue. Some setting may have changed. They have always been very helpful and professional in resolving any issue. The reps that I have spoke to have always been easy to communicate with.

Set the camera to shutter priority 1/500 af c and auto iso. You shouldn’t have any trouble with the D850 handling that

[quote=wetreed]I apologize to everyone who might be sick of me posting this, but if I were you I would go out and get a Tamron 18-400. You won’t have to change lenses at all. This lens will cover every focal length you will need and do it with the highest possible picture quality. Once you use you will never take it off.[/quote
I don’t mean to sound snarky but Why would you suggest this crop sensor lens to someone who owns the 3 of the best lens ever made? It seems obvious that he is shooting a full frame body if he has these lenses. The 18-400 Tamron won’t ever compare.

One of the reasons I like Apple is they never pre-announce anything. Oh, we might hear about something from a rumor site. The rumors are often very wrong. When the real deal is announced, it is usually available within three weeks. They'll usually take pre-orders over the web immediately.

I can't stand companies that announce and then miss their release by months and months because they ran into "unforeseen circumstances."

That is not always the case with APPLE. I was all set to order a new iMac but got on their website and it showed a new iMac Pro that was to be released in September of last year. APPLE Vista by several months but I am glad I waited and bought the iMac Pro it is an amazing machine.

If I were thinking about purchasing a new nikon which one would you recommend that I purchase (D5 or D850)? I'm looking for responses from people who have used either camera but do have some real-life knowledge of the differences in use. Thanks.

If you want to cover all your bases you need them both. They’re both excellent bodies designed for specific purposes. The combination of both bodies there is not a shot you won’t be able to take. I own both of them and would not give either up as that is how different the bodies are. Read every review you can find and try to make your decision. When the 850 was first introduced I thought it would cover all the bases having everything I was looking for. The 850 covered everything I wanted but lacked in high-speed action and low light. The D5 covers all that and I can also shoot portraits weddings and landscape but lose some of the cropping ability. You have a very tough decision you are Facing. I personally would never give up either Camera.

I had the Tamron G1. Difficult to lock focus at distance. Sold it and bought the NIKON 200-500 and the difference is amazing. I shoot witha D850. Our local camera store had a wildlife class a few months ago with Tamron being the sponsor. The instructor was a professional photographer and his work is published on Tamron website. My friend and I went who also shoots the D850. The class was held in store for 2 hours and followed with 4 hours hands on in a local nature park. My friend used a Tamron G2 demo lens and I used my NIKON. Same day same subjects settings etc. even switched lens between bodies to give each of us the opportunity to compare. Without a doubt the NIKON won hand down in all aspects whether he or I were shooting with it. I felt bad for the Tamron rep as he lost the sale to NIKON because of this. Yes it is heavier however there is a reason for that weight be it glass or material. Also I do not believe the reach was a full 100 mm difference and never did. Go with the Nikon you will be pleased

Royce, I love this lens for exactly what you state you are looking for. I use it on both my D5 and D850. Had the Tamron 150-600 G2 and sold it. There is no comparison between the two. I believe this is one of the best values Nikon has in their lens selection.

Let me give you another example. You go to a yard sale and buy a painting because you like the frame. When you get home You discover a priceless work of art behind the painting you just bought for $10. Is that your good fortune or do you go back to the seller and share it with them. I think I already know your answer.

Jeff Bezos, and many, many others: when you make one hundred billions dollars on the sweat of cheap labor, labor that can’t even support itself, I find that particularly vicious and irresponsible.

Do you think Louis XIII was vicious and irresponsible? Something cost him his head, didn’t it?

You are one angry person. I feel sorry for you.

I never said I was pissed; I said and I say, there is something better, and people don’t have to suffer just because others have more economic power, are more vicious, and less responsible.

Hmmm, Jeff Bezos is vicious and irresponsible, and you know this how?

Your philophy demands losers, though it’s not necessary. There are systems much more just without denying free enterprise and free markets.

You accept too little, too easily.

I accept what I earn and it is not easy. It is called work. It is not a handout. I make more money than some and less than others. You sound like the kid who sucked at baseball and never got to play. Never mind that you could have practiced more and turned into a better player. No that wasn’t fair to you. You expect more than you deserve.
