I was out taking pictures of birds as usual when I stumbled upon this. My granddaughter is enthralled by the elf on the shelf and I wonder if this is the animals version "gnome on a branch" see photo
Happy Thanksgiving to all
Thank you for looking and the advice can't wait to get out tomorrow
Thanks I'll look into that
My technique is take a photo get five steps closer take some more until they fly but I,m never close it's all digital enlargement and hence ok digital viewing but can't print very large just a guess never closer than 100 ft
another rainy day so it is time to post
Question I shoot with a nikon 810 and 200-500 but my file sizes are very small after cropping, the birds wont let me get any closer' any sugestions how to get more of the bird in the frame other than going to the 850 or other camera with larger #'s of megapixels
With the cooler weather the birds are more active and with less foliage easier to spot
i like your blue moon thanks
This is a rhetorical question I like # 1 better #2 is the blue moon guess I got lucky earlier this nonth
So I don't want to get my equipment wet, cold and rainy so today its time to post.
reply to ourspolair I dont think it is hurt or molting I believe it has its claw and leg tucked up
I could not carry 2 even if it was on my 7500 but yes I love it even though it hunts for initial focus sometimes
A professional wildlife photographer recently asked me what was my goal when I went shooting(photos) My answer was one good photo Today I went to my closest park and found a hawk that was cooperative I took over 400 distilled it down to 48 but will bore you with only 10 I shoot with a 200-500 nikon an today was one of the few time where I don't have to crop except in a few photos
