I did not put this in the birds subcategory because the subject here is the boats, not the birds.
Back home in Panama after three weeks visiting family in Utah. I did not even take my camera because I know how boring Utah is in November/December.
Disclaimer: I was goofing around the other day, shooting almost straight down from my balcony 27 floors up. I was using a 400mm focal length in fading light, hand held, so I pushed the ISO to 3200 to get a 1/1600 sec exposure. Lots of grain here, much of which I was able to minimize in post. I also wish I had zoomed back to about 375mm so the egret would not be so near the edge.
These fishing boats are anchored differently every day and the egrets are not always around. There are also hundreds of pelicans roosting in trees nearby, but they usually fly over a nearly highway to open water to dive for fish. A shallow inlet like this is not their thing.
I like the concept and will watch for the opportunity to appear again.

I was walking by my balcony and glanced out to see this. Had to shoot a pano.

I like these! Drive to Panama?? That's a heck of a road trip!!
Now retired and living in Panama. Just haven't updated my profile I see!
We took a drive to visit family in Anton, Panama. On Saturday, between rainstorms, we visited a valley leading up to a village called Ola. We drove a little ways beyond until we could get a better view of this rugged mountain - Cerro Los picachos de Óla.
From there we drove a little farther south to the town of Natá de los Caballeros, which was the second town founded by the Spanish on the American Pacific side, in 1522. Only Panama (now called Panama Viejo) was older. The basilica in Nata was one of the first built anywhere in the American Pacific and the oldest remaining. It is nearly 500 years old. The second photo is from the interior.
I had trouble getting into any exterior photos, because we ran into a parade. However, I had a great time shooting photos of the participants.

You really need to view his (Mark Rober's) first and second squirrel obstacle courses. These are not only hilariously funny, but amazing tributes to the skills and intelligence of squirrels. The first of those has had over 100M views. I also highly recommend his video on swimming pools and that familiar chlorine smell:

Wow, thanks! I may have to look at and consider more than one piece.
How much and will they ship internationally? :)
It's actually spelled Herrensee.
There is no Darwin Award for one who survives. The award goes to those who voluntarily clean up the gene pool.
A little explanation is probably in order. My wife and I have moved to Panama. However, for 6 weeks between selling our Utah home and getting title here we were living out of suitcases and mostly moving to a new Airbnb each week. At one point we decided the next Airbnb should be in Cartagena, Colombia. I loved it.
However, the street vendors in the historical district are relentless and nothing identifies one as a gringo quicker than a big camera. I carried it one day, shot a lot of stuff, and relied on my mobile phone after that.
At one point I decided to tell them I speak German (which is true). Three of the first four I tried that on starting speaking German to me!!!
Anyway, here are three shots of Cartagena I liked:

I had to shoot this through a closed gate

Love the way the water looks in these, not like milk. A great compromise, to me.
Yeag, honestly it was less about creativity and more about what I could get away with hand-held!
