ex Elm Park !!!, well I never !!! just up the road from me, I'm in Grays by the Dartford tunnel. I rewired a burnt out pub (a long time ago) it was on a roundabout in Elm Park, many thanks for the welcome

Small world Alan. I sailed for five year in the merchant navy (BP Tankers) as an electrical engineer and paid off at my last port (Canvey Island) and went home to my folks in Elm Park. I remember Grays as I used to pass it on my way to the Dartford tunnel going to Brands Hatch in Kent for the racing.

Hope you got a few freebie pints, rewiring the pub.

You will love this site. An absolute ton of very knowledgeable and helpful folks. :-D

Hi Peeps, I'm 66 and reside in Essex, UK, just by the Thames, my interests are motor cycling (current bike is a Yamaha Vmax 1200 V4), fishing (sea fishing), shooting (shot guns) and of course photography.

I like old architecture, churches, cathedrals, castles and the like. I'll sieve through the years and see what I can up with.

My day to day camera is a Panasonic Lumix DMC LZ3, quite a nice little pocket size, my other camera is the Fuji 6900, but can be a little bulky. hope to meet you through the posts
Alan

I had breakfast at Denny's this morning. I got up early because my wife went to work very early and so I had breakfast at Denny's and took the camera with my Rokinon 14mm lens.

It's a very nice lens for what it costs.

My local Denny's is my favorite place. Reminds me of the funny story a few years back when Denny's decided for the first time ever, to close on christmas day. Only problem. They found out that no Denny's across the whole country had a lock on the front door as they had always been 24/7/365. :-D

Wow, welcome to the hog, ianrobb. Nice shots. You have a good grasp of fashion photography. Well done. Oh, whats a
brummie?
Rich.....

A 'Brummie' is a native born in the midlands of England around Birmingham.

Ahhhhh very cool,
Rich.....

A further little bit of trivia Rich is that Birmingham is in the heart of what is known as the 'Black country', where the industrial revolution began with the advent of making steel.

I am looking into buying a flash that is compatible with my Sony a200. Unfortunately, due to a limited budget the Sony flash is out of the question. I have looked at B&H and Adorama and they have several affordable models listed. I just want something to give me more options than the pop-up. Any suggestions, as to good and ones to stay away from, would really be appreciated! Thanks!

Don't forget the older Minolta flash units which I have and work perfectly on my A300 with all the benefits of the wireless remote trigger etc.

I bought two from usedcamera.com
One was the Minolta 5600 HSD (which is in essence exactly similar to the current Sony 5800 unit.) I got that one for less than $100.
The second was the Minolta 3500xi which was aroung $85, if I remember correctly.
Both have the Sony/Minolta shoe mount which is different to all other flash units.

The 3500xi works perfectly as a wireless triggered unit from the main 5600, or both will work remotely from the camera triggered by the camera inbuilt flash.

Roughlock Falls is billed as one of the Black Hills most beautiful spots and was the set for the last scenes of “Dances with Wolves”.

The Roughlock Falls Nature Area is located in Spearfish Canyon and is considered one of the most beautiful locations in the Black Hills.

The water feeding Roughlock Falls flows into Spearfish Canyon from Little Spearfish Creek. Spearfish Canyon highlights an outdoor wonder that is impressive and unique to the Black Hills.

I took this image on a recent trip to South Dakota in October 2012. This was shot early morning just after we had a covering of snow.

I have redesigned the look of my website and made it easier for anyone to buy my Photography Prints and Greeting Cards direct from the site.

I have also introduced a Photoshop, Lightroom consultation page for anyone who is looking for one to one tuition.

Please take a look, bookmark it and share it amongst your friends.
