Very. Very nicely done. Also a nice job posing the birds, what are you bribing them with?(😉)

For sure a monarch.
Very nice shot.
It is a male monarch and judging by the pristine looks of his wings, recently eclosed.

Thank you and thanks for the information.

The buggers are certainly quick. I was watching this Butterfly and had just started a burst sequence (@12 FPS) this was image number 2, in number 3 it was at the very top of the frame and it totally escaped the next frames. This image is cropped down to 3528x2353 from (8192x5464). R5, RF800mm F11@ 1/3200 2500 ISO

Thank you and thanks for the information. My knowledge is limited.

Excellent! A very appealing image so intriguing that at first glance I failed to notice the sloppy formation of the birds. 😇

Shutter 2 slow, how much can i get 4 it?

Please clarify your opening premise. Is the shutter sticky slow or are the settings incorrect? Although relatively old in the model lineup it was a very capable sports and wildlife camera. If its a mechanical shutter problem the answer is probably a lot less than cost of repair.

Does the yellow colour of the beak indicate that this is a juvenile bird?

You may be correct. I quickly defer to those more expert about birds. Your comment caused me to run this past other ‘expert’ birders and the consensus was an immature but based on the ‘gape’. Gape was a new term to me and research leads me to agree. You have a good eye. Thank you.

Our Linden tree is a favorite hang out for small birds. Because they are rarely not in motion they provide excellent practice for hand-held target acquisition and quick shot response. Comments and suggestions are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking.

It’s said that a great photo stimulates by engaging the viewer and you do that so well! Therefore I just have to know, at the instant of the last image is the youth ascending or descending? Same question for the frisbee? And please, please did he catch it?

I look forward to your all of your submissions because you are introducing me to the humanity of NYC, a side of the city that my 3 years of commuting for work insulated me from, imprinting a very negative experience.
