Beautiful series of photos. They are such interesting creatures. Several years ago my wife and I vacationed at Sanibel and one afternoon found a burrowing owl perched as nice as you please on one of the posts of the railing on the porch of where we were staying. That was the first one I ever saw and it was a delightful "Welcome home."

Pretty. The dark background really showcases the flower. Well done.

Incredibly beautiful! Looks like a very difficult climb out—steep, smooth-looking faces. Thanks for sharing.

Cool photo op! I wonder if she sees her reflection in your lens.

Beautiful set. I've found kingfishers to be rather elusive and difficult to get a good close-up. Well done!

Those look like "White Winged" doves though Kansas is a bit far north for them. But we are getting birds moving their range in settled areas because the food and water is good, esp when people feed them in their yards.

I agree with Robert. These are white-winged doves. The range map in iBird Plus shows their range extending into southwest Kansas. Cool sighting and nice capture.

Birch and a pine

I especially like the paper birch series. Reminds me of a birch forest I visited once in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Nice series. I especially like the one of the two blue dragonflies—crisp focus and beautifully soft background, still suggestive of the habitat. Interesting that the hindwings of the one in flight were frozen, but the forewings are slightly blurred. That must say something about how dragonflies fly! Nice work.
