Doing something terribly wrong. Could not get focus on the moon. 4 different camera bodies, four lenses. The only one that would focus was the short one - 85mm f1.8. all nikons, all nikkors. The others: 70-200 f4; 200-500 f5.6, 55-300 DX would not work on either of two Df bodies or my D5300 body. It's gotta be me. Any ideas I can try tonight or tomorrow morning?

Turn your Auto focus OFF. Set lens to infinity, compose and shoot. (Auto focus runs by light. Since there wasn't enough light, your lenses would "hunt").

Clear skies, mild temp in Seattle (amazingly). These three shots in compilation taken from my deck with a Nikon D500 and a Tamron 150x600MM G2 lens on a really crappy tripod. Thanks for looking.

Great shots. Keep up the good work.

They didn't tell us how to focus to infinity. On Nikon AF lenses it's difficult to set focus to infinity.

Turn the auto focus on the camera off. If your lens has a focus switch, set to off.

Jet contrails from Atlanta airport flights linger in the clear morning sky over Lake Martin, AL.

Unfortunately, these are Chemtrails, not contrails. But I do like the contrasts in the photo.

Does anyone know or have this lens? If so, any review on how this lens performs in the field and how sharp is this lens? I need it for a Nikon D5 and/or Nikon D850.

Thanks.

I have a friend who's photos of wild life appear in Nat Geo mags. She uses this lens.

Getting the angle and perspective for a photo just right can sometime be very tricky, but these crazy photographers don't mind - when it comes to taking the perfect shot, they will do whatever it takes whether with a cellphone, point & shoot, or high-end camera.

The following is a slideshow of these crazy photographers aiming at that perfect shot. It is in HD and under 9 minutes long. OK? Everybody, assume your position/contortion, ready, aim, shoot!

Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5C7jDGrKxw

Enjoy. Thanks for watching.

Find a local tennis court and check the trash cans. Lots of used and abused tennis balls. Then for special occasions just buy him a new one.

I actually went to "Big 5" and got him brand new ones. When he started crashing into the furniture, chasing the ball, I had to hide them.

On second thought, maybe a Boccie ball would be better, certainly last longer - maybe.

Originally came from "Gladiator Bull Terriers", this guy is nearly 4 years old now. I took possession of him just after his second birthday. Bull Terriers are the clowns of the dog world. They are very energetic, playful and of course loyal.

Here he is with his favorite toy: a tennis ball. Unfortunately, the ball "died" a couple of days later

Hi All,
I love my pets very much and love to do pet photography. I work a full time job and don't get a lot of practice time to practice my pet photography but thought I would share my gang with you and hope to see your pets too!
A little bit about my furry family:

Caiden is my 11 year old Tri-colored Aussie who introduced me to the wonderful world of dog obedience due to being a puppy with no "shut off valve" and my threatening to give him back to his breeder on a weekly basis I love him dearly, but man those were some rough puppy years.

Karma is my (10 year old-the end of Dec.) Blue Merle Aussie who is my smiley girl. She LOVES everyone, was a therapy dog for almost 4 years and can't get enough of being around people. We've done some competing, but that wasn't her cup of tea, she is happiest when she is with people.

And then we have Penny, our little throw away mixed Shitzu/Terrier. Someone dropped her at my bosses house, and she joined our family at 8 1/2 months old (we guesstimate) in heat, with nails that looked like they had never been cut, but whoever had her, lost out big time. She is a great little girl, who will be 5 on the 13th and she has numerous ribbons from various competitions that we both enjoy participating in.

I'm also including Sasha our cat, who we lost a couple of years ago due to a stroke, she had just turned 16, and we miss her a lot.

All they all have brought me enormous pleasure over the years.

Thanks for letting me share them with you, and I'll hope you'll share your's!
