And the Nikon 18-300 5.6 lens is lots more valuable than the 6.3 version. Mine is used as my walk around lens and really like it. Bought mine for $600 and was tickled with that deal.

Mulling the value of 16-300 mm lens

If you get the Nikon 16-300, get the 5.6 lens instead of 6.3. Since getting my 16-300, it stays on my camera 98% of the time as my walk around lens and really like the pics I get with it.

Refurbished or new Nikon 18-300mm?

Really like my Nikon 18-300 3.5-5.6 as it stays on my camera 90% of time as my walk around lens. Remember that the Nikon 3.5-5.6 is about $400 higher priced lens than the Nikon 3.5-6.3 model. Bought it used from Robert's Camera in Indianapolis for less that $600 and was in like new condition. New Nikon 3.5-5.6 is close to $1000 and 3.5-6.3 is about $600. Really like this lens. Good luck with your purchase.

Nikon D7100 with 18-300mm 3.5-5.6 Nikkor lens SOLD

Nikon 18-300 with 6.3 considerably less expensive than the 5.6. Seems like a fair price for both to me.

Some Hummingbirds for a Change Plus a Sparrow or Two

Thanks Vicki, I am just trying to learn how these good images are shot. I am really having problems with soft and out of focus pictures. Camera shake may be my issue at 600 mm.
