Planning on a trip to Washington DC and will be hitting some of the Smithsonian Museums (Flight, Space, and Natural History for sure), and I really want to take only one lens so I don't have to mess with carrying a lot of gear. I usually carry around my 28-300, but I also have a 24-85. Nikon D750, so I can crop if necessary, but do I need the extra reach?

Just got back, 24-85! You need the 24mm end more than anything.

Voigtlander recently announced several more retro lenses. The 90mm is on preorder and it looks like the 24mm and 40mm are available.

I have the 58mm and am thinking about the 40mm, so I'd appreciate hearing of your experience with any of these lenses. There are very few reviews out there just now.

Images are of the three newest releases.

TIA

The one you are showing is the newer model 40mm and it is GREAT. Especially I love the hard stop for infinity, just crank it and it's pure> My favorite most used lens and I have many.

Check out this You Tube for the answer. It's a long video of 30 minutes but just look at the beginning, the middle and the end of the video. You will not believe your eyes! Almost unbelievable! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfByZJ5RTh4

BS using a couple of $10 cameras. This is the kind of YouTube crap my grandkids watch. That said thanks for posting anyway.
