This change reminds me of working in the corporate environment. Senior corporate managers have to impress stockholders and investors that they are innovative and forward looking by making changes. So they direct that changes in structure and responsibilities be made in the organization, an organization which is already a well oiled machine in its operation due to everyone’s familiarity with everyone’s responsibilities and roles. They used to call it “Process Re-Engineering”. It rarely made tangible improvements in operations and profits. Change for the sake of change is rarely successful in making things better.
