Same problem with getting a lower tree branch in focus and also top of tree in focus when standing close to tree. Tree with single trunk
Cropping suggestion will help.
Just learned about TS lenses.
No easy solution!
Many Similar situations Where I am near some thing and want oh and focus from close to farther or far away. How would hyperfocal distance work? It does not seem to. Frustrating!
There are so many situations similar to this where I am near something and want to get everything in focus from near to distance! Hyper focal distance doesn’t seem to work either. Really frustrating
Picture was taken at 1/409 sec at F/4.5 iso 100. 105 mm.
Thanks to all for the suggestions.
Attached is a picture that illustrates the problem. Note that the grass in between the two bears is out of focus. (The marks on the bear are because I took a picture of the picture that is on a computer screen.)
Assume two cases:
1. Animal is not moving. 200 MM focal length, bright sunny day. What shutter speed and iso to get both Animal and surroundings in sharp focus?
2. Animal breathing, twitching or head moving slowly. Same 200 MM focal length, Bright sunny day. Same question. Also, better to be in shutter priority or even manual?
Bison or bear in animal park.
Canon 6D at 100, 200, or 300 mm.
Animal at varying distances.
How to get a sharp picture of an animal AND grass surrounding it? Either one or the other is sharp even with at narrow aperture of 16 to 22.
Southwest U.S. is a photographer’s paradise!
I sure appreciate the positive feedback.
Believe that Canon warranty on US version is good for 1 year. If so the issue would be whether gray market equipment has problems in the first year
Wanted a general idea. Assume local market is Japan.
What might be price differential between a U.S. vs international Canon camera in percentage terms?
