Crop to the story. Bring the right into close to the ball, Left near the player's heel and bottom to the edge of the green patch. The story is the player kicking the ball.

With trimmed focus this is a great action capture.
Thank you for comment dpullum....

You captured a great expression on the boys face. You might consider cleaning up the area of his left leg which looks like it has a lot of hair on it. I agree with dpullum's suggestion on cropping.
Thank you SoHillGuy, part of the blend of texture..

Very nicely caught Frank! And the pp is really apt. I’d crop, maybe not quite as tight as dp is suggesting. Have we lost a leg from the left hand fella?
Appreciate your commenting Dave..just standing sideways.

Great composition R.G. Your mentioning of the distant hillside and the break in the clouds above that area would lend itself well to a gentle brightening of that hillside to possibly add a touch more depth should you so desire....

I'll be the dissenter here Erich...wonderfully composed is how I see #1, presentation not to to my particular taste. #2 I find, for lack of a better description...over processed, all personal taste on my part Erich....a lot left in the shadows makes it seem sort of lifeless for me considering all the action protrayed...

An interesting concept Erich...I'm just having a hard time with the whole image seeming oof....seems the tips bother me more than the center.

An engaging image Anvil…your choice of treatment serves it well, my nit piks are the dark area lower right, almost as if it’s a too strong vignette and stands out, I think lightening up that area might improve and I find the brown foliage too strong, maybe desaturate orange a bit in the HSL section,
and I'm on the fence about the bright break in the clouds in the back ground….purely personal opinions….a wall hanger in my opinion...well done.

An exquisite image Don, the light was managed very well and the textured background a wonderful choice along with blending the image colors into it….definitely going into the nominations for this months “Gallery Project”….

After reading R.G.'€™s thoughts, then hearing your response, I thought to dramatize both...for what its worth, my effort to combine both visions.

If both images had the same type vignette it might help with your decision....for me both are nice presentations of an image I would have been proud to have taken, I will note there is haloing evident at nvd...

Good composition, timed right, taken from a great perspective, and found with a keen eye amersfoort, I would only suggest bringing in the last couple of upper zones...

Just goes to show how a great shot can turn into an excellent presentation in the right hands....your conversion of this wonderful color image is inspiring.....I only mentioned context originally because of your mention of the back story. Just outstanding talent from capture to presentation color or b/w Mr. Chinn.
