Good plan! Your f1.4 provides about 4 times as much light for the image as what the f2.8 does, and makes the backgroubd more defocused. Jim

See if you can get some members of the party shot before the real action, also some of the indoors scenery. Condider them as practice but they may be some of the best.

And,try borrowing or renting a very fast lens. Good luck!

That looks like a replacement aluminum head, made by by Ray-Day on it, but hat's OK. I put one on my Model A, before I installed a V-8.

Pictures of Italian individuals, taken with their permission, can be wonderful. A big reinforcement of the memories. Skip a few places and resolve to return!

I've worked in labs that used carefully taken shots of newspaper pages as targets for subjective determinations of image quality. If this approach sounds useful to you, use the precautions suggested by Stevelew in his item above.

In Morro Bay, Oregon there is a Heron Reserve, just south of the community. A tree there is full of nests and the Night Heron tree is closeby.
