I have acknowledged that bad people will still break the law. Nothing will stop that.

As for missing "semi", I don't think it matters how you get to an automatic weapon. What sane person would make buying and owning a mod like a bump stock legal, but saying it is illegal to use? If I recall correctly, back when I was a child it was legal to buy alcohol, but illegal to have alcohol in your vehicle. So how did one t***sport that case of beer or bottle of scotch from the store to the home? Illegally, of course, until the law was changed to be practical.

I am not advocating banning ownership of firearms; just regulate the process to increase public safety. The only ones who fear such laws are those who are already breaking the proposed legislation. And if that legislation reflects the will of the people, then they should damn well lose those weapons.

I have read it, along with all of the arguments and court decisions. I still don't understand why you can't have better control of who gets to buy a firearm without jeopardizing a person's freedom. It is no different than licensing who can drive a car and who is prohibited from driving for wh**ever reason (i.e., losing their right to drive because of a disregard of the law).

And I still have not heard anyone provide justification for an average citizen needing an automatic assault rifle. I can understand hunting rifles, even handguns, but military weapons? Someone has to draw a line in the sand somewhere, and I am just suggesting the current line is in a bad place.

I suppose it depends upon one's viewpoint. When the American colonies revolted against the English crown, the colonists saw themselves as patriots. We still see ourselves that way. But King George and his British subjects on the other side of the pond saw us as traitors. To them, we were exactly that. Someone once said that those who win a war get to write the history books.

But all that aside, I wonder whether you truly think you are bettering yourself by putting down folks who lived a century and a half ago. A quiet man once advised that those who are clean of sin could be the first to hurl charges and deliver judgement. They nailed him to a tree for that, they being the same sort of self-righteous folks who seem to be hellbent on destroying the south today. Same fellow I've just mentioned advised that one ought to deal with one's own faults before getting on someone else's case. "Deal with the beam in your own eye before dealing with the mote in someone else's eye.

But I do agree that you're not trying to rewrite history - you're trying to erase it.

Then you should know and realize that had all you protestors supported the American position the war would have ended sooner. It was people like you, supposed do gooders who prolonged the war.

Nobody hates war like someone who has actually fought in one to literally see the horrors and bloodshed. I realize my words will bounce around in that empty Liberal head of yours. I know you will tell your friends you were on the right side of destiny just as the dumb ass paid rioters are thinking that today.
