I found an Aurora rock crusher #1 at work on Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28GBIl26Ndo

And those well-captured sparks remind me of my grandpa's millwrighting shop where various machines tossed huge arcs of sparks all over the place - very frightening for a small boy on his first venture into the world of machinery!

Thank you very much. That is remarkable the a Aurora rock crusher is still in production. Millwrights have to know a lot things, and sometimes there are a lot sparks involved.

That’s a terrific and interesting group. I really like the welder.

Thank you for your comments. The welder was really good. I'm a self taught welder, but not so good.

My machine/machinery challenge arises only from my having a few images of what I considered machines are, and the reflection that I had never seen a challenge on these terms. I am not an expert, or even an enthusiast, neither do I have a great collection of stunning machine images, but I know a lot of hoggers do.

Sorry - I clicked send before I was ready! Here are a couple of images suggestive of the range of technology which we might explore

Great images. What a contrast in technology.

I found a few machines pics I believe are UHH worthy.

Old rock crusher used in the 1880's in gold mining.

This steam engine was used in the "saw mill" for powering huge band saws blades that slice logs into lumber. It was no longer in use when I worked there during the Summer. My Winter job, I use a smaller steam engine to unload coal cars.

This is a metal brake used for forming sheet metal.

This is the type of high quality product formed on a brake.

This is CNC laser for cutting sheet metal. Once programmed, it perform repetitive operations automatic; no operator.

Sounds like one you could host, Gary

I will likely post something, but I don't have the time to host. Most of my day and part of nights are spent taking care of my wife, plus everything in the house.

I love your shadows. Great job. I would like to see "shadows" as a UHH category some day.

I stayed at home while job-searching when I left grad school. During those few months, South Bend was hit by a snow storm that dropped 4 feet of snow during a 48 hour period.

(1) My Grandmother {I'm her age now} needed milk for dietary reasons, so my Mother called around and found a place a mile away that was open because the clerks were snowed in, and I walked there with my backup camera which was loaded then with B&W film. We were a city of pedestrians for the next few days

(2) My Dad tried to clear our 'apron' and driveway with the snow-blower but accomplished little until I joined him, I moved snow with a snow shovel while he used the blower

Very nice images. I use to absolutely love Winter when when I was much younger 60 or 70+ ago, but as I've aged a little Winter isn't quite as much fun. I still like to drive in the stuff and snow blow.
