Thanks Country's Mama, that Squash bug was fairly co-operative, much more so than that naughty jumper.
Some times those jumpers can be stinkers. I was trying to get one today that wouldn't sit still.

The squash bug is wonderfully photographed! I love the black background. The jumper is super cute.

I have been watching these nymphs for a few days. Last night I caught this one newly emerged and drying it's wings.

Thank you. I had a homemade one that worked well but didn't hold together well. I am liking this one so far.

Thank you. He was really good model and didn't move the whole time. I took many shots to get the eyes in focus. I am hand holding with a lens that is manual focus. It took awhile but I have learned to love it.

Lovely shot so don't put your macro lens back on the shelf
Thank you. Life has gotten so crazy lately, but I am going to try and find time to get it out more often.

This little guy on my bathroom wall and new soft boxes for my flash prodded me to get out the "Macro" Lens.
I really like him on the white background. I have left this lens sitting on the shelf for too long.

This is beautiful. I really like the tight crop it it gives him just a touch of menace in the pensive look that he has. Kind of saying I may look like a big cat but watch out.
The lighting is gorgeous.

Yes, you'r correct they are knives. The color was the reflection from the pillow that was overhead. I did try just B&W but lost some mesmerizing, as you say, effect and seamed to go flat. I had a lot more color in this when started and did removed some. Now a day later I think you are correct to remove at least some of the brown area while keeping the blue areas.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting Allan.

It is so funny how we all see things differently. It was the brown color that attracted me to this in the first place. :)

Thank You CM. The crop was tough went back and forth, more at bottom more at top in and out on the sides. Changing the crop is not a problem.

I always struggle with where to crop, but I think this needs a nice border around it.

I really like what you have done to this. I love that you used a gradient for the background. The colors and texture are beautiful. I might not crop it quite so tightly especially if you are going to frame it. This would look beautiful on a dining room wall with a sister print of another utensil done as a metallic print.
