Good capture(s)! I've always enjoyed mockers and their always entertaining songs and attitude. What camera/lens were you using? Thanks.

I'd like to get a good compass and a topo map for a friend's son as a Christmas present. The topo is available locally, but I'm not sure as to what compass to get him. My dad gave me his back in the '50's and it has served me well for all these years. I'd like to get one for the lad but I really don't know what brand or what features are good by today's standards. The boy is eleven and very clever. Thanks!

Any of the basic Silva Compasses will do just fine.

#1 for all the reasons above. In addition, it faces into the frame space instead of looking out or away from it.

Here is a link to TireRack.com's article on the subject, plus a bunch of links to other sources:

Personally, I use plain old air...

(Actually, fresh air is better)

I have used OWC a number of times - both for memory and external hard drives. Good products, good service. I recommend them highly.

It seems that many Mac users keep their images on external drives. Why is that? Is it because their internal drives are smaller than on Windows machines?

Jerry, I have a 320 gig drive and two 500 gig backups. It's five years old. Is it possible that Mac users keep their machines longer due to fewer problems, therefore filling their primary hard drives and needing the additional space? (Not trying to start a Mac vs. PC thing here...)

Thanks for posting, sammywoody. I always enjoy your car show pictures. The red T-Bird is unusual; I've never seen '55 Fairlane side trim added like that.

I bought it for less weight, which it is great. The camera itself is very good and I was really impressed with the 55-210 lens. But I just couldn't get used to it after using a D800 (and other Nikon DSLR's) for so many years.

I found a lighter weight Nikon DSLR and lighter lenses than the big professional ones I have. When I need all the bells and whistles of those lenses and the D800 I can use it for a short time or on the tripod.

So don't need so many cameras....LOL

Thanks for your comment; my last SLR was a Minolta X700 (film) camera. Substantial, by any measure. I think I like the idea of the larger size also.
